Rated 5 out of 5 by from MY NEW FAVORITE COAT This is a very comfortable and lightweight Hoodie/Jacket. I normally wear an XL, but have learned from past OR purchases to buy one size larger and this one was no different. The XXL fit perfect and on cold morning hikes, has been keeping me nice and toasty. The coldest weather I've been in so far has only been mid 40's, so I'm not sure how warm this thing really is. On a recent trip, I was able to stuff the whole coat into one of the inside pockets making it very packable into a small space. There are many roomy pockets to carry anything I need I do get a lot of compliments on it. I tell everyone "it's like wearing a down sleeping bag...but better"

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost perfect I absolutely love this jacket and wear it daily in the winter. It's very warm for its weight but breathes well so you won't overheat too quickly. My only complaint is that the elastic on the cuff is a little too large in diameter, which allows cold wind up the sleeve. It's not as noticeable if you're wearing layers, but if you happen to throw this on over a t-shirt, it's very noticeable and you can lose a substantial amount of heat from the sleeves. Maybe I just have skinny wrists but I would like to add a bit of fabric to the cuffs to keep the wind out. Then this jacket would be truly perfect. I've worn it in the rain as well and the waterproof hood and shoulders work very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Technical Down Jacket - I'm 6'1" 200 lb and have a football build, the Large fits me well. - I've had this jacket in 35 degree weather w/ 15-20 mph winds and felt comfortable with just a base and midlayer underneath. I would say the jacket is pretty windproof. - I love features of this jacket which separate it from other down jackets: the lined pockets, the added internal pockets, the waterproof/durable shoulders. All these things come in handy in the back country. -The one "downside" to this jacket is it's technical look. To me, its not a "fashion piece" that I would wear in public or use as a daily driver. But then again, that's not really what I bought it for.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Overall all solid, would like different cuffs/neck I really like this coat, but since I think about a couple drawbacks every time I wear it, I feel like 3-stars is the right rating. I'd love to see the following improvements: 1. Velcro cuffs instead of the elastic rings. Longer cuffs. My wrists are always cold when I wear this coat. Would love velcro cuffs like on the alpine parka. 2. Higher coverage around the face, as in extended mouth and cheek coverage for those windy days when you want to tuck your face to stay warm. Overall really like the warmth and fit of the coat, and waterproof fabric on the shoulders and hood are sweet. Could see making a full insulated/waterproof coat out of that fabric.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Almost I used this for backcountry skiing and winter parka around town in freezing conditions. Materials and construction are awesome. However, the front collar is way too low when zipped up and doesn't provide adequate face coverage in cold, windy conditions. This is a perennial problem suffered by many an OR outwear jacket for years now, and I just can't wrap my head around why the design team insists on repeating this flawed design. From the Ferrosi to the Helium, year after year my face is cold. I'm 6' 178lbs 42" chest and 35" arms. The Large fits well with room to layer otherwise. Please fix this design issue and this jacket will be worthy of the awards it's already received.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Helium Jacket Perfect for extra warmth on cold days The jacket is perfect for those times when your not on the move as much, but need to stay warm. I'm a ski patroller in CT and the temperature can vary a lot during my shift, starting out cold in the 20s in the morning and by 11 am its 45! The jacket is great for the cold and with the easy built in stuff sack pocket I can stow it away in my pack when things warm up. The jacket has also been a great asset with Covid because there are many cold evenings standing around outside with friends around fire pits. The Helium Jacket keeps me toasty while hanging with socially distant friends.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Search Over Was looking for a down coat for bikepacking and certainly have been through a few recently. Starting with fit, medium fits perfect on my 5'10'' 157lb body. I'm not a rail thin skinny biker guy either. Second, warmth ratio is way better than my Ghost Whisper, it's really not even comparable. Third, from damp days to frosty mornings this coat really did what its billed to do and I can't tell how I appreciate that when sometimes I'm far from a warm shelter. Lastly it packs down very nice, not excellent like the Whisper but I'll make room for the Helium every trip moving forward!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would buy again, best down puff jacket I've ever had I wear this jacket a lot. It's great as a technical piece in cold windy conditions but also looks great for more casual wear. I have other 800 fill down jackets but they aren't nearly as puffy, this really feels like a mummy sleeping bag. The adjustments on the hood are designed better than all my other hooded jackets. It's incredibly lightweight for how durable it is. I've had my dogs jump up on me and rake their claws down my sleeves but to my surprise there haven't been any tears! Thoroughly impressed!
