Product Reviews
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the material and fit, but need a longer inseam Outdoor Research is making a bold move to make clothing for all body types, which is wonderful and overdue in this industry. Why then does this pant and other OR pants stop at a 32" length and not offer more of a taper through the inseam? I am a runner and cyclist by trade who happens to enjoy and appreciate OR, but from my experience with this pant, the Balebreaker, and the Wadi Rum pant, the form and fit could be improved for those with slimmer bodies and longer legs. Otherwise, I enjoy the material and functionality of the Shastin pant and get a lot of use out of the pair I own. My comment above is intended to serve the OR brand as whole.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally Finally, I found a good fitting pant. I wear a 33x31, which is the unicorn of garment sizes, so I usually order a 34x32 and roll the dice. So, being true to my methods, I ordered a 34x32 and the fit is awesome. There's a little give in the waist and the length was spot on. After a wash, the pants are perfect. I can't emphasize the relief and elation I feel that these pants fit so well. The fabric is on the thinner side, so you should buy with some expectation management. If you want super multi-day expedition pant, these aren't it. If you want a good fitting casual pant, that you can enjoy day hikes or some light work in, these are the pants for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new work pants for office and field Love these pants. Tough but elastic enough to commute on my bike. I can wear these in the field and look good in the office. I am 6' 185 lbs, wish they came in a 33" waist. Bought all three colors and replacing Levi's in the closet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pants - I bought one pair, tried it and repurchased I was impressed with these pants. They fit me very well. The color was a nice green that suits most of my wardrobe. The pockets are deep, easy to put a large phone inside. What I like most about these pants is the material. It has the right amount of stretch. It is very lightweight, yet tough. It breaths well and is not hot when wearing these pants.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Outdoor meets casual [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these pants a month ago, and was impressed with the quality and build. I did have to swap them for another pair because the size 34 waist fit like a size 32. I would encourage folks to go one size up for the best fit. I was surprised to find that these pants have a tapered leg, which made them a much dressier pair of pants than I expected. The kind that you could wear on a first date, with some nice boots. These pants are not suited for hot weather, but they have made a wonderful addition to my outdoorsy wardrobe. 4 stars, just because they weren’t as suited to outdoor activities as I wanted. But 5 stars if you’re looking for that “hot boy that totally does outdoorsy stuff” look.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrendous Fit These are loose, awful balloon pants. Some other reviews said the fit of these pants is similar to the old Wadi Rum's. Well, I have a pair of those (which I love) and those truly are a trim fit. These are a very "full" fit with loads of extra room everywhere. Calling them trim fit is egregiously deceptive. If I pull them snuggly against my waist, there is an extra inch of material sticking out off my waist. They are also at least two inches longer than what the tag says. Even if the waist and inseam was correct, the fit in the thigh and the calf is voluminous. I bought these at a massive discount and Really wanted these to be great, but they just aren't. Who cares about the fabric or stitching if the fit makes you look like a clown? A huge letdown from Outdoor Research.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nailed it !! Great fit. 6'1" @ 170lbs. Most often wearing 32 x 32 and this is no different. A tad loose in waist so I do wear it with a belt but that is common with all my pants. Good fabric, light and tough. Add a gusseted crotch and these would be 10 star review.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Professional pant I wear these when I'm teaching or going out. They're similar in cut and fit to the original Wadi Rum (the good ones) pants. They lack the stretch factor of the Wadi Rums and so I don't use them climbing or hiking. However, it's a decent regular pant.
