The Outdoor Research Men's Transcendent Down Hoody is a versatile down insulated jacket intended for backpacking or everyday casual wear. Packed with 650-fill goose down, it's incredibly warm for how lightweight it is. An adjustable hood and hem help seal out the elements when the wind and snow are whipping around. The whole thing compresses into its own hand pocket if you need to keep it packed away.

Product Reviews
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Packable warmth [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In the past I have sought alternative sources of warmth than down filled jackets and have recently converted due to the convenience of compression and the reliability of warmth they contain as well as the level of comfort. This jacket packs easily into a small stuff sack and can be stored in a backpack for cold weather. I wore mine in -5 degree weather with a polyester sweater and remained at a comfortable internal temperature. After a few days the feathers tend to weasel their way out but not at such a rapid rate that the jacket loses any insulating powers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall great jacket [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Solid 'A' on the jacket. Good fit and I'm confident it will meet my needs for my upcoming climbs in the Cascades. Was surprised that it was a bit thinner than expected (and initially regretted buying 650 vs. 800 fill down). If you're looking for a WARM jacket, go 800 fill. However, this gives more versatility to the jacket and allows for more normal use around town, so I'm pleased with the purchase. I'm 6'3, 210 lbs, and I fit the XL nicely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite winter jacket! Looks great, very warm, comfortable and packable. I am 5'7 165lb and needed to go with a large. The sunglass sleeve is a nice bonus but wish it had an internal zipper pocket like the last one I had...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Nice Jacket [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm mostly pleased with this purchase. It's lightweight, soft, comfortable and the sizing is good. My only complaint about the jacket is when the wind is blowing, it can come in under the lower hem of the jacket and it makes the pockets cold. For the price, they should have done a better job on lining the pockets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable and lightweight [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered this for a light weight insulating layer to be worn under a shell or as an outer layer when a shell wasn’t needed. It’s light weight and durable. It’s also pretty warm. I wish it had a little bit more insulation, but it gets the job done.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I really like this coat! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my Transcendent Down Hoody a month ago and so far I really like this jacket. It seems well made and I like the fleece lined pockets. I got mine in charcoal gray with the blue liner and think it looks great. Happy I got it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from light weight and comfortable [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] NIce midnight down hoody. as long as there isn't much wind I have been comfortable down to 0 degrees C. good quality zipper, like lined pockets but why not line the hood too? It would make it a little nicer.
