Strange fitI have found the materials and finish to be top notch with these. The issue I have found is that the sizing seems a bit on the narrow side. They seem to fit like a skinny jean which is not what I was expecting with an insulated ski pant. The the legs are narrow which is ore aesthetic but the hips and waist are snug as well. The waist is on the smaller side of a medium but the hips seem like the fit would be better on a climbing pant. I ordered a set of Grand Ridge pants (32" waist) at the same time and the waist and hip on those is larger.

These are SKI pantsAs opposed to something more blousy for a snowboarder. Someone actually posted a critique that they were "narrow" in the legs, and as compared to (e.g.) Flylow Baker bibs the Tungsten pants are. That's what sold me on buying them, and I am glad I did. Frankly they are fitted perfectly for skiing - tele and alpine; they are warm, light in material weight, slide seamlessly over base layers, and are not overly long in the leg as compared to most ski pants. I also like my color choice (fatigue). I haven't spent any time sitting on snow or ice so the goretex remains untested, but I'll bet on the outcome. Well done, OR, well done.

Question the durability of materialFirst time out using these pants - at a ski resort - and absolutely loved everything about them until I was packing up my gear at the end of the day. I noticed a two inch tear in the butt area...all I did was ride the lift, zero wrecks, and can only assume the pants ripped on a piece of ice on the chair lift seat. I have at least a dozen pieces of OR gear and never experienced this. Warranty doesn't cover rips...yes I can/will repair with tape but am disappointed OR wouldn't cover a replacement in this instance.

Great pant!I used this on an AIARE 1 course and it was great in the Steven's Pass area in Washington State in the first week of December. There was light precipitation and weather was in the mid 20s F. All I had on was these and 250 weight base layer pants. I was very warm and had no complaints. I was snowshoeing and I felt like I had a lot of mobility. I was even able to squat all the way down and not feel like the pants were going to rip when I did so. I usually wear 32x32 jeans, though I could wear 30x32, I usually like the looser fit. I got the Medium size and I feel like if I had large, I could have been fine in the waist, but would be too long in the legs. Overall a very good pair of pants!

Would recommend!Medium size fits well for 5'10" / 145lb male who sometimes skips leg day. Powder skirt fit snugly over size 11 double boa snowboard boot. Outer pant leg is barely wide enough to fit over binding's high back comfortably. Definitely not your standard "baggy snowboarder gear"-look. Without thermals: Warm down to 15-20F. With thermals: Only tested down to 0F windchill w/ 25mph winds. Still warm. Highly durable and waterproof even in wet snow conditions. Only used for resort skiing, so no backcountry opinion to offer.

Great pantsI primarily used these pants for snowboarding in southern California and they were fantastic. There was just enough insulation that I never got cold even when sitting on the snow and the waterproofing and windproofing was excellent. It fit really well. I'm 5'8 and 170lb and normally wear jeans size 31x30.

Sizing is off.The pants seem like really good quality, however I can't squeeze into them. I'm 5'10". 180lbs. Normally wear a 32x32. Going off the sizing chart, a medium should have fit perfectly. The medium was way too small. The sizing chart is way off for these pants.

Trim fit and not the usual Standard fit sizingFor the last few years anything I ordered in Standard fit would be a M and Trim Fit in L. However, the Standard fit Tungsten feel way more Trim fit for me. I am borderline M in any brand being 6' and 190lbs w/33 maybe 34 depending on the brand. These seem ideal for New England ski days and look forward to having a touch of insulation for most days. I will update post after I get a larger pair.
