Product Reviews
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Awful "Update" The materials and color are great, but OR absolutely dropped the ball with their "updated" fit. The previous version's fit was perfect, but the hand pockets were way too shallow. OR fixed the hand pockets on the new version, but destroyed the fit of these pants. The new Voodoo Pants are waaaaay too tight in the thighs. Do yourself a favor & don't waste your money. They also put the leg pocket directly above the knee, so if you put anything in the pocket, it just bangs around on you knee cap; horrible placement. Obviously, the new cut & leg pocket was not well thought out by someone who'd actually wear these pants outside. Unbelievable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from STOP CHANGING THE FIT OF THINGS You guys should hire me as a consultant. I could tell you, as I could tell many other companies "If you have a product that works as is, don't change the things that work." Running shoe companies are guilty of this. And usually OR isn't but recently its like they're making clothing for people who eat 500 calories a day. News flash OR, you have a lot of athletic customers. Making "trim fit" is for skinny jeans for rockstars. We use our legs 8 hours a day on the hills. WE HAVE QUADS. A 30 waist doesn't have to mean you leave no room in the thighs. The old Voodoos were spot on. These feel like compression tights. I agree with all the other reviews here.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Crotch Too Low Do another review on these after I've climbed in them more. The crotch is too low on it that makes it hard for you to stretch your legs to the side. Who designed these? You'd have to hike these way up on your waist to get the crotch at the proper location so you can actually stretch out in. Also the front zipper pocket is terrible. I threw my wallet in it and it practically drops to your knee. Waist is a size too big and the thighs are a bit tight but doable. What is with the ankle drawcord? It is absolutely useless. I 100% believe these pants only lived on the drawing board and was never actually wear tested before it made to production. Garbage pant.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Boomer pants? The comments elsewhere about the peculiar fit of these pants are mostly right, but here's what I think the reason is . They're Boomer pants. Seemingly made for older guys with small butts who tend to wear their pants hiked up a bit on their torso. If that description fits you, you'll enjoy them, as everything else about them is great. Good, deep pockets; useful mid-level weight (good for early spring or late fall hikes, when the weather may be a bit unpredictable), quality construction. If that's not you, you'll probably hate them. Makes it hard to assign a rating, so am compromising with 3 stars.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Only if they redesign the 2020 version I really love the Voodoo pants and have been happily wearing them and recommending them for years. Sadly the 2020 redesign is a disappointment. In short, the crotch is the issue. It hangs excessively low in the front and even lower in the rear/butt. This causes a binding of the legs when you do anything from walk to climb. The right thigh pocket has been moved from the lateral mid-thigh to the front of the thigh. The zippered opening extends from mid quad to just below my knee joint, making it difficult to use for anything more than a tissue. On the plus side, the reinforced cuffs and redesigned front pockets are great. The fabric, workmanship, repellant treatment and quick drying are exemplary as usual. Please back up and regroup OR. I need my pants back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from They used less material so the fit is tight The fit is more tight in the thigh. However, this doesn't changed how well they work for athletic endeveaurs - only they way they feel and look. I prefer them the old way; a little more loose. One commentor mentioned that if there is such a change, OR should rename the product - on this, I agree. Another issue I have is that the snap on two different Voodoo Pants have weakened to the point of breaking, rendering otherwise good pants into uselessness. Overall, I will buy these pants again in the hopes that our comments are heard and applied - after all, we all like OR and what they stand for, so it's worth giving them a chance to make quality gear for us to use and abuse!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Pants Use these Voodoo pants mostly for hiking, though I am going to try them for upland bird hunting in the fall to see how they hold up in briars and brush. I like the fact that they are light weight and breathable, and I prefer the slim fit of these (Voodoo) over the regular fit of the Ferrosi. Also, the fabric seems to be a little thicker on the Voodoo pants than the Ferrosi, but I do like the slight stretch of either. My only "complaint", if I have one, is that they are slightly high waisted, so having some hips helps to keep them from sagging. The thigh pocket is fine for light items (fishing tippets, mask, etc) but I find it uncomfortable for my phone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring back the older fit/design please! My husband loved the older version so much that he wanted two more pairs for his birthday (he had two pairs from the older design with the looser fit and pocket on the side of the right thigh which he loved and have held up great). Ordered two for his birthday and he was so disappointed that they fit poorly (not enough room to move for his climbing) and pocket on the front of the thigh (which makes no sense at all). Please bring back the older design -they were perfect (or perhaps have a slim fit for those who like them tight) but the deep thigh pocket should always be on the side!
