Make the Wadi Rums great againI want to add my voice to the cloud of witnesses who mourn the loss of the origional Wadi Rum pants. They were, and still are, my favorite pants. I would wear them every day... but I only have one pair left, so I have to make them last. As all the other reviewers have said, the new pants are cut extremly tight in the crotch and "pockets" area of the thigh, and much wider in the hips. I'm a climber and cyclist with an athletic build (big thighs, narrow waist). OR, please bring back the original cut! You will have my eternal gratitude. Fess up to your tactical error, and redeem what may be the best pair of pants - ever!

Don't bother. The "updated" version is my third pair of Wadi Rum pants, and the new and improved version is simply a step back for OR. The fit is tighter, and the cut is frankly, borderline uncomfortable if you have quads or glutes. The taper creates a shorter profile so the same 30" inseam measurement rides higher than previous iterations of the pant. The thigh zipper is more exposed, which isn't as attractive a line, and exposes the teeth to abuse. Each "improvement" is a little change, but when added up, ruins what was a good product. I won't be purchasing again, and I can't recommend the new style. Too bad OR couldn't just leave well enough alone.

Major DisappointmentTruly cannot believe the poor quality of the this pant for the price point. The horizontal stitching that runs from the outer leg to the crotch just below the pockets is sub-par to say the absolute least. I wore these pants twice in a casual setting and the stitching is already giving way to gaping holes. Garbage, plain and simple. Really wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing. Also worth noting that this is the first time I've ever left a negative review. Never thought I'd do it on an OR product. This pant should be removed from their catalogue. I have a very sour taste in my mouth about OR products now.

What happened??Man, I was really excited to see that the Wadi Rum pants were being updated. The previous version had some really great features, with the exception of some odd details like the pockets. Unfortunately, I believe OR took a step backwards with this iteration. These pockets are now unusable as they are much too tight. Also, the overall fit is much tighter, even in the same size as the previous model, so size up! I've also noticed that between the two pair I ordered, the Fatigue color fits smaller than the Storm color. I hate to say it, but like the other reviewer, I hate these pants. One star for the material as it seems like a good compromise between durability & comfort/stretch.

What Change an Exceptional Pair of Pants?I own 3 pairs of the first generation Wadi Rum pants and they are outstanding - great fit and durable. I ordered a pair of the new version not seeing all the poor reviews in the exact same size and I could not even get them on. Improvements should build upon the prior version's strengths, not make the next one completely unrecognizable and erode brand loyalty. Product change without clear functional objectives driven by your customers results in what you have now - significantly more negative than positive reviews. You had a great product and now you have a poor product.

Missed opportunity.... Not last years modelI was very happy to see the new grey colour come out and jumped on these as I have two pairs from the previous year and I love them. Unfortunately, this edition of the pant is unwearable. As others have stated, the crotch to belt (top) is extremely short. I purchased the "long" version as I need the extra length (6,4) because of the short crotch seam, the pants become way too short if I wear the pants on my waist. I contacted customer service to see if I recieved a miss cut pair.. They promptly sent a new pair, but again they were ill fitting. It's very displeasing as I would buy every pair and in every colour if they fit like last year. Being 6'4" and thin, I rarely find pants that fit... and last years were perfect. Hoping to see a return of the previous cut.

Disappointing...I wrote a review a few weeks ago about these pants. I was just prompted through email to rate my recent purchase...so here I am, revisiting. After a couple weeks of wearing these pants, I'm even more dissatisfied. The tightness is incredibly frustrating. I find that the legs naturally twist outward or inward as the fabric brushes against my opposing leg. Since there isn't enough fabric, they don't naturally straighten out. I seem to be constantly adjusting the legs. I'm a federal officer, and the decrease in belt loops causes me to place the holster for my firearm too far back, not on my hip as I usually carry. Im not a fan at all of the new thigh pocket zipper. It is way to conspicuous for my liking.

Pants for the long haulThese are my fifth pair of Wadi Rum pants and my other four are still going strong after 3 years. I've used them for work on a shop floor, hiking, search and rescue missions and going out to dinner. I like the fit and the slimmer profile. I'm a bigger dude (6'2" & 220) so finding pants that don't look like an MC Hammer backup dancer's wardrobe can be challenging. Couple recommendations: 1) Love the zippered phone pocket but would love it more if it was offset more over the side seam. 2) Please have more of the larger sizes in inventory - can't buy them if they aren't there. Thanks!
