Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Waterproof, Windproof Rain Jacket! Love the Gore-Tex Paclite fabric! Windproof, breathable, and waterproof. Genius design for full length, two-way side zippers! Adjustable hood works perfectly and zips up high enough to protect lower face from cold, snow, rain, & wind. Flattering color - a rich, deep Fushia, as I am very tired of wearing dark colors in the PNW! Bought a size up to wear an 800-Down jacket underneath for those bluebird days! Jacket has a flattering cut with or without a warmer layer underneath. Receive many compliments whenever I wear it - out on the trail, on the slopes, belying, or around town. A durable go-to jacket!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not waterproof nor showerproof I was looking for the best waterproof, lightweight jacket. I initially took it back to the shop as it did not manage a light rain shower with no shoulder straps touching. They sent it for testing and the result was it was waterproof with no issues. It has NEVER kept me dry in the rain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Go to Rain Jacket I bought this for a heavy monsoonal rain season in Southwest U.S. This jacket has been completely waterproof and is my go to jacket! I use this jacket for work which involes hiking in the woods for long periods of time. This is when you need something waterproof and lightweight. I also like that you can sip the sides up towards your underarms because when you are carrying a backpack, it can get a bit sweaty inside, so being able to provide some breathability while still being waterproof is great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really nice shell I'll start by saying how amazing it is to have the option to buy a quality technical shell in plus sizes. A big thank you to Outdoor Research for offering plus sizes! Pros: This jacket is lightweight and (thus far at least) waterproof, super wind resistant, pretty breathable (the long zip vent feature really helps with that) and seems like it will be durable and long lasting. The hood is really well designed and I can cinch the hood down in wet/windy weather without losing my peripheral vision. I wasn't in love with the plus size color options so chose the black. Not exciting but I like how it looks with the black welded zipper. Con: My only con for this jacket is just what the previous reviewer noted: this jacket is quite snug on the hips-suprisingly so. I wear an 18W-20W usually but sized up to a 3X to allow room for a puffy underneath. The chest and upper arms fit perfectly, (so unusual for a plus size jacket), but the hips are close. I can easily remedy this by unzipping the vents a bit but I would have preferred more room in the hip area. Overall I'm really pleased with my purchase and I can't wait to see what else OR comes out with for plus sizes. I've got my fingers crossed for a hooded down puffy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my Aspire II !! I previously had an Aspire I that had a zipper problem which after 3 years became a zipper failure. OR graciously gave me a credit through their Infinite Guarantee and I got the Aspire II - which has a perfect zipper. I am 5'3" and weigh 115 but a small was a little snug, especially on the cuffs and hips. The medium fits great with room for layering. The hood goes over my bike helmet. Lots of adjustments and wonderful pit zips that zip from pit to bottom hem with a two-way zipper. Highly recommend!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spectacular for every sport! A rain jacket can be a rain jacket, but the torso venting is an absoluete must have for an adventure rain jacket. The torso venting allows me to regulate my body temprature while excercising (hiking and running), all while staying dry. Plus, I love to paddle outrigger canoes and the torso venting provides me the release for the torso movement, other jackets restrict or prevent. Thank you OR for such smart design!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not overly waterproof Bought this a few months ago and have worn it a handful of times. Really not overly waterproof, water doesn't really bead. Have not washed it but feel like it should perform better out of the box. Would recommend getting a higher end goretex jacket instead.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from If you have arms, this may not be the jacket for you. This jacket visually looks nice, but that's about where it stops for me. I have arms, and shoulders, and biceps, but I'm not a body builder and I don't rock climb; I'm just your pretty average athletic build but also likes pizza and beer. But I can't drive my truck without the fabric pulling against my biceps and armpits. I can't even come close to crossing my arms without the fabric across my back and upper arms getting super tight. When I sit down, the zipper puckers over my chest and makes a giant point. I read that some people commented on the crinkly noise the jacket makes and I though they were being a bit dramatic - they are not. This is the loudest jacket I have ever worn, just walking down the hallway at work it crinkled and swooshed with literally every muscle movement. I bought a large so I could layer underneath it, so it's not a matter of it being too big. This is just a dreadful jacket. Yes, the rain beaded nicely when I walked to my truck. Aside from an emergency jacket you hopefully don't actually need to use, I can't really think of when anyone should wear it. What a bummer.
