Product Reviews
Rated 1 out of 5 by from This is not a high quality jacket the price would suggest. I am both not happy with the durability of this jacket and Outdoor Research for not backing it up. I wore this jacket twice. The first time just doing errands around town on a rainy day. Then I wore it for a 1-1/2 hour snowshoe hike. Nothing was wearing against the jacket, just my arms moving back and forth. After the hike I noticed a wear spot on both sides of the coat. One side was fully through the top layer of the coat and the other was partially through. When I contacted Outdoor Research about this issue, they told me they don't cover any issues caused by the customer. All I can say is don't get this coat if you expect it to last. So disappointed I spent so much.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the jacket, will use, but it is snug around the hips I bought a size medium in the blackberry colour of the Aspire Jacket. I am 5'9, with a bust size of 37 inches, waist of 31 inches, and booty area is 42 inches. I found this jacket to fit perfectly around the chest, but it was snug around the booty area. I have a maybe an inch or so of room, but I don't want to size up because I worry it will be too big in the chest area. Good thing about this jacket though is with the side zips, you can zip up slightly and gain a looser fit for the bum. Also, I had hoped with the slightly longer back length, it would cover my bum, but it only covers half. Overall, still a great jacket, but if you got a big booty, something to keep in mind is it might be snug!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Waterproof, do not reccommend This rain jacket has not been waterproof at all for me. I do not know if it is only mine since everyone else has such great reviews? I've reached out to OR's warranty and haven't heard back from them. As an outdoor adventurer living in a rainy city, a good rain jacket is essential. I've even tried to waterproof wash and spray it with Nikwax but that has not fixed the problem. This jacket wets through in less than 30 mins of rain. I'm disappointed with the women's Aspire Jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from the waterproof jacket I've always hoped for [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm an avid hiker/backpacker in the Adirondack Mountains where it rains nearly every day. If you're serious about hiking in this area of New York you need a seriously waterproof jacket. Look no further - honestly. This is the one you've dreamt about while you've tried to dry your clothing after hiking in a downpour in a substandard jacket. This jacket? She is soft. She has zippers that run from hip to pit. She repels water. I have not yet taken her out in a seven-hour hike in the rain but I have hiked in a steady rain for an hour and was not.wet.even.a.single.bit. Signed, Happy Dry Hiker

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great jacket, but runs a bit small I had the previous version of this jacket and absolutely loved it! Unfortunately I lost it, but was so happy when the latest version was released. This version fits a lot differently than my previous one. My previous one was a large and fit great but the large in this version was really tight around my lower torso (wide-hipped ladies, size up!). I returned and ordered an XL and it fits much better but still snug for an XL. Overall, this jacket is really excellent, stays very dry, is light, and very well made. I'm definitely not losing this one :)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Zipper not great, not for curvy hips Overall this is a good jacket, but it has two issues. The zipper sucks. I've never had a zipper take so much effort to get things lined up so incredibly perfectly. Sometimes I lose patience and just leave it open (I layer this over a puffer for winter). Also I have to unzip the sides just a little bit to accommodate my hips even though I have the right size per the measurements chart. Also I'm disappointed in how off the color is for the blue version of the jacket. Instead of a rich, bold blue it was a faded shade. So I returned it (to a third party site) and ordered the black from OR directly. The blue had the same zipper issue, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holds up to Coastal Rain I've been looking for a jacket that would hold up to Pacific Coast rain and this one is working for me so far. I hiked in it for an hour during our worst storm of the summer and didn't get wet. My favourite features are the two-way zip for extra room in the hip and the toggle on the back of the hood that gives me a good fit over my hat. Since I plan to use this jacket year round I bought the jacket by the hip measurement so I could layer. I purchased it online after reading the Outdoor Gear Labs reviews and I found their evaluation to be very accurate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great rain jacket! This jacket keeps the moisture out and keeps me dry underneath. I wore this all winter as an outer shell over a hoodie and puffy. I've also worn it in a few rainstorms early this spring. It does keep me dry. I love the chest pocket to stash my phone in. It's the perfect size for that. I'm in between S and M sizes right now. I have the M and it has some extra room for a few layers underneath. I weigh 140, am 5'4" athletic build, broad shoulders for a female and don't have any issues with the jacket pinching or cutting into me anywhere.
