Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've been waiting for Echo Plus Size And it's been worth it! I'm 5'4" and 235 and the 2XL fits perfectly. I wouldn't want it to be either larger or smaller. The length is perfect and the shirt is so breathable. I wear this all the time. I had melanoma as a child and deal with fighting the sun in exposed hikes. I've just had another piece of my ear taken off and IMO all other "sun hoodies" are too hot and don't breath as well. This is the only item on the market comparable in plus size. I hope the attitude around plus size women in the hiking gear community (because let's face it, men's clothing often has 1x & 2x) fades away to a distant memory. One of the hardest parts about backpacking is the lack of quality gear for women of my size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Essential multipurpose layer I got this base layer last year for hiking 14ers in CO and trail running, and it is absolutely wonderful. I love the sun protection without having to reapply sun screen every hour. It is super lightweight and breathable in the heat but is also useful for keeping the chill off in the morning. There are a few spots where it has begun to wear through but it's not super bad. Overall I would buy this again and recommend. One con for me are the colors. OR... What the heck are this year's colors? Who wears bright orange/yellow and hot pink? The good colors go so quickly. And the second con is they don't have a thumb hole like the men's last season.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hoodie! Love everything about this hoodie! I did return for size L as the M was tight in the bust. The fabric feels great on, fits under a fleece, keeps sun off all the sensitive areas (neck and upper chest especially). It dries in seconds after perspiring. You can wear it in warm weather or cool weather under something. It was a bit cool when I first wore it but it was very sunny and I'm a ginger so sun can be a problem for me. The color (Radiant "yellow") is so vibrant is just makes you happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I own many of these! I almost exclusively wear Echo tops now, for biking, hiking, backpacking. Only on the very hottest days would I probably reach for something else. Even then, it would have to be pretty darned hot. I love these, the weight is perfect, the hood with the ponytail slot is very nice, I have had many women ask me where I got this shirt, they notice that ponytail! Great for sun protection too! I think I have about 4 or 5 of these now. And I am sure I will keep adding. They are lightweight, and they snag easily. So I know they won't last forever. But they are perfect for what I want in a top for outdoor wear!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ultralight and very comfortable sun protection Just got back from backpacking in Zion and wore this hoody the whole time. It's really light and keeps your cool while also providing great sun protection. I do wish they still had the green color though. I will also add that last year I bought the red-ish one, which turned out to he neon orange. I returned it bc I wanted red and it was also fairly see-through. I purchased the storm grey bc it was the least lame color, besides navy (bring back the green and please also make one in maroon!) The grey isn't see-through and I really like it overall. I'm a ginger and burn easily. The sun protection performed as expected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very breathable, but low spf This is by far the most breathable full coverage shirt I have found. The only thing that works in Carolina hot humid weather. You will still need sunscreen underneath it - I didn't wear any the first time and got a slight sunburn on my neck and shoulder, though certainly nowhere near as bad as if I weren't wearing the shirt.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So light! The sleeves on the extra large are just a little short, and I like the men's sleeves with longer length with thumbholes much better than whatever is going on with the womens shirt. Are they pockets? Finger covers? No one knows. Anyway it would be nice to have that and an option for a tall size. The length on the XXL looks closer to mine but then everything would be way too wide on me. Also it would be nice to see some additional colors, and for the hot climates they could be light reflecting options (ie light purple, light yellow, light pink, light blue etc)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as durable I was super excited for the updates from last year's Echo Hoodie - the foldover hand mitt from the prior design was... perplexing. The design and fit are great - if it's possible to feel sexy in a sun hoodie, I do. My main complaint is the durability of this year's fabric. After a month or two of use I have way more pulls than my much older hoodie with much more mileage. Hoping next year's model is tougher.
