Needs more stretch or zipper to get over hipsI was excited to see these pants offered in short length - wish more companies would do that. The pants are really nice and one they're on they fit pretty much perfectly. The problem is getting them on. The waist has no stretch nor a zipper so it's a major battle to get them over my hips. And I barely have hips! I'm 102 lbs and sometimes even get away with wearing girls' size skirts and pants, that's how narrow I am. Not sure who they tested these on but not on normal sized people (and most people would say I'm much smaller than most people, so that's saying a lot if even I can't get these on). Big bummer - they're going back.

Love these!I Love these pants so far, they are super comfortable and cute. I originally ordered a size 10 but that felt a little big (I have the zendo joggers in a ten which works for me) so I exchanged for an eight. For reference, I am 5' 137 lbs with a decent booty. The Short length is still an inch or so too long, but I just cuffed them up a bit. I could get them hemmed if needed. The eight feels perfect. Does hug my hips but I prefer that fit to baggy. And, I think they are supposed to be snug/trim. Fabric is nice, enough stretch. It's possible i'll still end up preferring to hike in leggings, but these are really comfortable and I know I will get a lot of use of out them.

Needs a redesignI really hope they redesign these, because they really do have a lot going for them aside from the fitment issues. Going by the size chart and reviews, I hedged and ordered sizes 12 and 14 to make sure I got the right fit. Both fit for my hips, but I was swimming in 14. The 12s we're close, but the waist was way too loose even with the drawstring. I had to tie up so much slack that once fastened, the material was all bunched up and billowed out. It showed through a shirt and was generally uncomfortable having that fabric bunched up. Very disappointed these didn't work out. Waist 31, hips 42.5.

I love these pants!I purchased these on a whim, thinking it would be great to have a pair to throw on when heading out with the dogs. I'm 5' 5" and carrying a few extra pounds from a long pandemic year, so I ordered a size 14 short (better too short than too long). The length is just right! They're a tad big, but I don't like them too tight, especially since this is a thinner, stretchy fabric. The weight is perfect for the warmer weather that's on the way, or cooler weather but high activity pursuits. I'm sure will dry quickly. The pockets are perfectly placed and just big enough. I can see wearing these on my bike or field work with my dogs. Another great product!

Love, but a word about the fitI love these pants, but wanted to comment on the fit. The fit is PERFECT for "my" body type and true to "my" size. I am 5'5" and 125-30lbs, I have a small hip girdle, slim legs and broad shoulders - what some folks refer to as a swimmers body. In other words, my upper body is thicker than my lower body. I read the comments carefully before ordering the Equinox pants and decided to go with my true size , 6. Some brands I'm a size 4, and others I'm a size 8, but none of them fit well overall. The Equinox by OR is hands down the best fitting size 6 I have ever owned; the length is perfect, the fit through the hips is perfect - I'm blown away. It's worth trying different sizes in this pant to find what works for you ;)

Runs very large, not easy returnI ordered these pants along with a set of leggings. The leggings were awesome, the pants however, which were also the smallest size available, we're huge by comparison- closet to a typical size 2-4 than a 0, and easily about 6 inches too long despite the 'short' designation (I'm 5'3" for reference). When I went to return them (I bought them in part because OR's webpage had a note on it about 'east returns' - there was a glitch and I had to send an email to request a code. Then, the return instructions required a box (even thought they were sent in a bag). Additionally there was a lot of notes that they aren't responsible for any items that get lost in the mail- anyways to send a very small box insured for an expensive pair of pants cost me $17. I would not describe this as an easy return, and probably won't be buying OR via their website. Only getting it from other merchants with easier returns.

Summer climbing/hiking pantThese pants are very comfy, but do stretch out more than I was expecting. The waist band is great because it sits well under a harness or pack hip belt and works well for those of use with smaller waists/larger thighs. The side pockets are a little odd; the zippered one is really hard to get into and I can't put anything in them if I'm wearing a climbing harness, but they work nicely for hiking. I also have to agree with another reviewer about the inseam length. (I'm 5'9" at 160lbs and the 10 fit well, but inseam is too short)

Love these pants.Great casual pants that can be worn to town or for a hike up a mountain. Would love more colour choices! I wear a size 6 (5'7" 135lbs). Pocket design is really nice.
