Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this coat!!! I love this coat so much! It is much shinier than what the photos lead on but otherwise its the best! Its incredibly lightweight for how warm it is and I cant wait to see how cold it can manage, especially in Northern BC. I purchased a medium and I am 5'5", and 140 pounds and it fits great with a little room to spare.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best jacket ever!! This is the best jacket ever! The Teaberry color is awesome and incredibly warm, but not bulky at allc. There are also some cool little color details like bright blue in the hood and olive colored fleece around where it touches your face, so it looks cool and is super cozy. The fit is flattering and feels true to size. I am about 145 5'5 and a medium fits perfectly. I lived in my Sonata down hoody for 5 years and you can't beat the quality of OR. That jacket has held up well and does NOT look 5 years old. I thought this would be comparable to my Sonata hoody but I think it is even more flattering and warmer. I have slightly wider hips (size 6-8) and I feel like this jacket fits better around the bottom than my Sonata. Love it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from functional hoody... only one downside Illuminate down hoody is flexible, comfortable and packs down well. Not a huge fan of the shiny material , but the color was fine. After wearing this jacket every day in frigid and windy Wyoming temperatures I sadly decided to return the jacket because it was constantly leaking small and large pieces of down at the seams of the jacket (near armpits, back, etc.) I followed OR's recommendations to eliminate the problem (put jacket in dryer, no heat, w/ tennis balls) and still had a leaky jacket. I had never washed (machine or hand) the jacket and there were not any visible tears or other sources for down leakage. Great product, would be better w/ a more durable/ ripstop outer and possibly would have eliminated my issues with the jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One puffy to rule them all I've been wearing the Illuminate down hoody as much as possible since I purchased it. If I could live in it, I would. I have other puffies, but this one really is top notch, especially with the hood. The pockets are lined, which makes them extra warm for those chilly days on the mountain or waiting for the bus. Other reviews have mentioned the shininess of the hoody- I agree it is shiny, but was a non-issue for me. Sizing was good. I was hesitant to get a large given my wide hips (~42 inches), but I haven't had trouble wearing thicker sweaters underneath. I wore it in light rain for the first time yesterday and had no issues with compression or loss of warmth- I stayed warm and dry!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Layer or Standalone This jacket is a new favourite go to for me. I purchased a size smaller than what I would normally wear (a medium) so that I could wear it as a close to skin jacket rather than a outer layer. It works fantastic in my layering system. I have worn it x-country skiing, snowshoing, about town and as a layer for working on the water at the end of the open water season. While it is not waterproof a layer overtop of this jacket turns it into an amazing shoulder season jacket. I am 5'5 and about 150lbs and I purchased a size small for a snug fit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Had to return, too tight in armpits So disappointed because it was almost so good. Fit great in the body, just loose enough to layer but still looked fitted and attractive. But I had to return it because it was too tight in the armors. Why? Why don't designers think women have shoulders? I'm 5'3" 120#, bought a small. I climb but still don't have big shoulders. Shouldn't OR work for strong ladies anyway? Hope the next version fixes this issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super lightweight and warm! I love the trim fit of this jacket and how flattering it is on. But most of all it's really warm for being so lightweight. I personally like the slightly shiny look to the fabric. I'm 5'7", 140lbs and the medium fits perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice, lightweight, warm coat I'm 5'3" and 115 lbs and ordered the xs. It fits great everywhere, with just enough room for a heavy sweater underneath, but not too baggy with no layers under. In terms of size, the only issue is that the sleeves are a little too long for me. It's super lightweight, yet warm. I've only owned it a couple of weeks and have been wearing it in Alaskan spring weather (high 30s-40s) and have been plenty warm. The test will be next winter when it's colder. Overall, I'm very happy with the coat.
