Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight Hoody Just purchased this for my wife and she loves it. It is a fairly lightweight very breathable hoody that can do dual purpose for both technical and everyday outerwear. The fabric is a medium weight knit that seems very breathable, but not particularly wind or water resistant. The jacket is a medium fit, not baggy or form fitting so it would work as either outerwear on a cool day or a layer on cold ones. There are two large hand pockets and an ample hood. The hood will fit snugly over a bike helmet, but is a bit baggy for wearing on a bare head. We were thinking of this as strictly a casual jacket, but it may end up being ideal under a wind jacket for winter biking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glad I gave this piece a shot! This hoody is one of my favorites! I bought the Cacao color and couldn't be happier with it. I generally use it for work (biologist) and I spend a lot of time outside. I've put it through the wringer and I've only had it for one month. It's the perfect spring layer, warm and breathable. I purchased a medium. I'm 5'8" and 143 pounds. I like the length too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My most favorite article of clothing The fabric is SO soft. I have an older one of these that I purchased a few years ago that is still in great shape. The fabric hasn't pulled at all like some fleece products do and it has maintained its softness even after 4 years. I bought a new one because I lost a few pounds and needed a smaller size. I like the flaps at the end of the sleeve to keep my hands warm vs. the thumbholes the older models have. Thank you OR for bringing back the zippered pocket. I wasn't sure how I would feel about the mesh pocket on the inside of the pocket, but I think that it will clear the pockets of dirt and sand a little more readily. I just hope the mesh will be durable. The jury is still out on that one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best hoodie ever! I think this is OR's best version of the Melody hoodie yet. I like the fold over cuffs better than the thumb holes from past years. Glad to be rid of the pesky drawstring that came out in every single wash and had to be restrung through the hood every time. I wasn't sure if I'd like the inner mesh pocket. But I have come to really appreciate it. Any sand that gets into the pocket falls through the mesh and I don't have to try to turn the pocket inside out to dig the sand out. It's still my favorite hoodie. I love it's softness and durability. The fabric never pills. The fit is great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from slim and long, not quite right This is a gorgeous hoodie but not quite what I was looking for. It's super soft (the outside almost feels like a cross between a sweatshirt and a softshell), and the blackberry color is feminine in a subtle way, but I was looking for something that could be versatile as a mid or outer layer, and I think the close fit on this puts it firmly in the mid category--I wouldn't be able to wear it over much besides a thin, close-fitting base layer. (I'm 5'4", 150#, ordered my usual M). It's also long. I like some butt coverage sometimes, but because of how slim it is it looks awkwardly tight over my butt, and that was just in leggings; if I wanted to wear it over jeans or work pants I think it wouldn't work at all. I thought about sizing up but the way it's cut I think a L would probably just look baggy, and the sleeves would be way too long. If you're taller and slimmer, or looking for a great mid layer or something to throw on over a tank top, go for it. I was hoping for something that could work almost as a light jacket and this isn't it. (Also, I wish it had thumbholes!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this jacket! Long sleeves and torso! At over six feet, it's so hard to find clothes with sleeves that are long enough but here we are! Comfortable, well-fitted, bright color and sturdily made. Another OR win.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute for working out This is a well-built hoody. It's soft but hefty. I'm short (5'1"), and it covers my butt, which makes it great for wearing to the gym.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite hoodie Excellent hoodie. Bought the wrong size for me though. I lost some weight and didn't realize how much I'd shrunk. I ended up giving this L to my daughter and bought a M for myself which is slightly loose on me, but still an excellent fit. I tend to like things to fit a little more loosely than on the snug side. Soft fabric that doesn't pill. Mesh pockets allow the sand to fall out. No drawstring to get tangled up and pulled out on the laundry. Love the fold over cuffs on the sleeve vs the thumb hole from previous years.
