Product Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The only OR bib option for size 12/14/16 women I just returned from the Seattle OR store where I literally tried on nearly every bib in the store, including several men's styles. AscentShell and Mt. Baker were the only ones that fit me, and I ultimately purchased AscentShell. I am a 12-14-16 right now at 5'10" and 205lbs. I previously wore the Flylow Foxy bibs, but I gained some weight and needed to find a larger pair. These are trim on me for sure, as in I won't be wearing a down layer underneath ever, but are a great and flexible fit all around. The Mt. Bakers were much heavier overall and much wider in the hip, maybe better for someone who is bigger on the bottom than on the top. Hope this helps someone else. OR: PLEASE MAKE EXTENDED SIZES!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from does not fit people with an athletic or curvy build I am so disappointment in yet another Outdoor Research product that does not fit me. I have an athletic build from cross training and a long seasons doing snow sports. These bibs, though highly recommended and obviously well made, do not fit my legs. I constantly feel excluded from high quality products like these because I have larger legs and a smaller waist. I'm 5'10" with a 29" waist and 44" hips for reference. I bought the women large and it was too tight on my legs, restricting the range of movement, and far too large on the top creating a large gap on the back that would definitely let snow into the bib. Please make more inclusive sizing!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Some of the best women's hardshell bibs I've found I'm a ski guide and avalanche instructor in the PNW, and of course I get out recreational ski touring as much as possible! I've used OR's Hemisphere bibs in the past and was excited to try out this new style. Overall, I love them. I'm about 5'7/130 lbs, fairly average build, and I got these in a size S. The size and length is about perfect. The fabric is really soft and nice -- breathable, light, and QUIET, which is an amazing surprise in a hardshell bib. I love the addition of a beacon clip to the chest pocket and have been able to ditch that awkward beacon harness and wear mine in the bibs chest pocket. I would love to see OR add another clip to one of the leg pockets for another beacon option there. Speaking of leg pockets, they're big enough! FINALLY. Thank you OR for making pockets big enough to actually carry things in (like my AIARE fieldbook) and to be able to fit a gloved hand into. Can't overstate that. The only other thing I'd really change about these would be to make the leg opening just a bit bigger or make it expandable with a snap or zipper. The leg openings barely fit over my boots when they're in walk mode, so I have to kind of tug and fiddle with them during transitions, which can take time and be a little frustrating with thick gloves on. Anyway -- that's pretty minor for me, overall I'd 100% recommend these if you're looking for a solid pair of hardshell bibs!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Medium fits the best (size 8 pants, 5'6", 147lbs) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have trouble finding pants that fit, so I was very worries with hardshell pants that I wouldn't be able to find a comfortable fit. I have a 29" waist and 40" hips. Oftentimes well fitted bottoms are too tight around the hips when I move my leg up. That was one of the reasons why I opted for the bibs. I tried both a medium and a large and the medium was by far the best fitting for me (size 8 pants, 5'6", 147lbs, 27" inseam, 29" waist, and 40" hips). The pants were a little long but that was expected given the size chart. Would get 5 stars if it came in shorter sizes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love 'em Switching from ski pants to bibs for touring/long days in the woods has been lovely, allowing me more freedom of movement and flexibility! I find it easier to use the restroom at resorts with pants still, though, just given the small space / wet / gross floor; but in the woods the full-length zipper and stretch are perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice bibs - not the best waterproofing? Love the fit and color of these bibs. Ive gotten around 20-25 days in them so far skiing in California and Colorado. They seems to be extremely durable, they look like new. My main complaint however is that on snowy days, i've found that my legs and butt end up damp underneath. They seem to be ok in light snow, or snowing on and off, but if its snowing hard and you're out there for a couple of hours, they end up soaking through. I like the pockets, the color, the durability seems good, theyre probably excellent for warmer ski tours, they were warm with proper layering even in single digits in Colorado.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these sooo much These are very comfortable and light, I have only used them a few times so farm but they are so much better for snow boarding than my pants. Plus I love the easy access flap for going to the bathroom, that was my one concern. I highly recommend. No regrets. No more snow down my crack. If they have a down side, I have not experienced it yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these pants! I recently wore these pants on a backcountry hut trip and they were great. I love being able to use the vents to cool off when skinning up and the bibs added extra core warmth that meant I could ditch an extra top layer that I normally wear. Pants were very comfortable for both uphill and downhill!
