Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love at first bite I loved this cap from the minute I wore it. Super comfy, warm and toasty, not an attention grabber, pretty simple with a bit-o-fashion built in. The lining is one of my favorite cold weather fabrics. Don't know what its called. I call it beefy fleece. The ear flaps flip up and stay when not buttoned down. I like that. You're not going to take this cap out into the minus degrees for very long and you're not going to wear this cap when the wind is bitter and blowing hard. You should wear something more substantial. For everyday wear this cap rocks. My go-to hat for everything above zero degrees with winds less than 30 mph.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Earflaps not functional and requires perfect fit Earflaps, for me, are not a fashion statement. So when I need earflaps on my hat it's because it's really cold and blowing (i.e. snow blowing, backcountry skiing, ice fishing, etc...). These ear flaps barely extend below your ear lobes and without a below the chin strap, there is no way to tie them down. So they do not cover the ears well and pop out a bit. Plus, without an ability to adjust the headband size, you have to have a perfect fit to keep it from sliding down. And, the fit changes depending on if the flaps are down or up: flaps up = snugger fit; flaps down = looser fit. Sigh...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hat is great for cool weather but check size. Basically I am pleased with the hat except I would have put snaps on the side instead of 2 buttons. It would be faster and less cold on the hands to put the flaps down. What I am not pleased about is the measurement guide used when I ordered the hat. I did measure my head and looked at other hats I have and I was 1/4 inch under the maximum for Large. So I ordered the large but it is clearly not big enough. The hat slides up on my head. If I was closer than that to the maximum measurement I would have gone to XL but I though the L would be fine. However, I can't afford to reorder given the shipping costs.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good quality, Bad design This hat was a Christmas present in 2014. The materials and quality are great. It is toasty warm. However.... the ear flaps are designed to funnel any wind directly over your ears. Even my old Army BDU cap had better ear flaps than this cap. I have worn it quite a bit over the past year and really wish the flaps were larger all the way around. The second button holding each side up is also superfluous and can be done away with. I AM glad that these are buttons, not the over-used Velcro.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Hat - Sizing is a little goofy This has become my go to cold weather hat. It's warm, versatile, and I love the folding brim for easy storage in a pocket. The only problem is the sizing. I've tried on a few of these in different colors and it seems like the large fit with the ones that I tried on in store. By the time I pulled the trigger to buy it I had gone back to Utah. The hat I ordered fits, but runs a little bigger than I had expected. It may be the altitude, it may be that the sales guys made me feel good and my head grew in the store, but all things told the hat is about a half size too big.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cap for walking the dog and going to town As a woman with a big head, I love that OR sells this cap in lots of fabrics and specific sizes (sorry, "one-size-fits-most" doesn't usually fit my cabeza grande). I got this in Large and it is a perfect fit. My partner has the same cap, different fabric, in an Extra-Large, and although he complains that the ear flaps don't lay down enough to provide wind protection, I have not that problem - but I did immediately unbutton the flaps and have been wearing it with the flaps down flat against my ears. I got the Earth/Cafe color, which is a nice medium/dark brown tweed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE this hat! I was hesitant to order since I didn't really *need* a hat, but I am so glad I ordered this one! I wear it often. It won't keep your ears warm if it is very cold out, but for mild winter or cool fall days, this is perfect. It looks great with the earflaps up or down. The only suggestion is to be wary of the sizing; according to the chart, I was right on the edge between small and medium. I ordered the medium, and with the earflaps up, it is snug. I don't quite need a large, but it wouldn't take much.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Like product but sizing is the issue Generally like the product although the buttons on the sides for the flaps is not the way I'd go. I would have used snaps which would be more convenient. My big issue is that my size was 1/4 in. from the top of the range for Large. I assumed that would still mean that Large would fit. It doesn't fit well. Too tight for my comfort. If I was less than 1/4 in. I probably would have gone up in size but I thought the 1/4 in. within the range would do. However, the cost of the hat plus shipping in way to high to replace this one so I'm stuck with it.
