Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn't last. Worn out in 3 months I bought this product as a lot of travel bloggers rave about it. I am on a year long trip throughout Asia. On month 3, the threading for the lid ripped off and now it leaks. Since I'm not in the US it would cost more than the product is worth to warranty it. I still have 9 months left on my trip and can't afford to carry around the extra weight. I did like that it folds down but it is really heavy. If I could go back in time I would have bought the soft bottle. This meta bottle just doesn't hold up. I probably used about 3 days a week for 3months before it broke. Back home in Colorado I used the same nalgene bottle everyday for 3 years and the threading never let me down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for speed and multitasking I use my Meta+filter on dayhikes and lightweight overnights with a buddy. It's great when you know you will be hiking past water sources to be able to scoop some water really quickly along the trail without having to stop to fill a hydration system or dig out your filter from your backpack. Also, it only takes a minute to fill up a friend's bottle (or a spare for yourself) so we can both stay hydrated and keep hiking. Pro tip: Each time you run out of water in the Meta, give the bottle a few shakes, then dump out the remaining water before scooping new water from your source. The shaking cleans the filter, and dumping out the remaining water gets rid of the left over extra concentrated dirty water.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great filter bottle This bottle has replaced my BigZip hydration reservoir on most hikes I do now. If I know there will be water along the trail I no longer carry water on my back. Saves 2-6 lbs of weight! Come across a water source? Scoop water, close bottle, keep hiking, and drink as you walk! Its so fast! Also love that you can just shake the bottle to clean the filter. If using without the filter it doubles as a pint glass and wine glass! Just unscrew the bottle and fill up whichever half you choose! Or you can fill up both halves. There are no limitations!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didn't dishwash properly I thought I'd found the perfect bottle, as I wanted somewhere between 500ml-1L, and wanted something with only a few components so it would be easy to put in the dishwasher regularly. For some reason after the first dishwash (on the top shelf) the lower section developed brown patches, and so I instead started to hand rinse it and leave to air overnight. Now it has started to smell and make the water taste strange. I do like the colour and size of this bottle, but I can no longer bring myself to drink from it daily.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Can't get rid of the smell The product itself would be awesome: easy to clean, easy to pack, nicely designed opening, filter system. But for a non-smelling bottle it smells a lot! After a month's use and multiple cleaning attempts it still smells of the room deodorant from the shop where I purchased the bottle. The water is not drinkable when the water gets warm. Back to my old bottle and waiting for customer service to respond. I love the other Platypus products and hope this is just a random defect.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great Idea, Miserable Product I really liked the idea of this, and based on previous platypus products I thought it would be great. The idea of a self contained filtering water bottle is awesome. BUT... -It doesn't really hold one liter as advertised more like .6 or .7 -Filtering requires a heavy squeeze, and the bottle often leaks -Cap doesn't always seal -Rubber bottom half of bottle seems like it wont be durable overtime. Honestly I am surprised this bottle has ""platypus"" written on the side of it.
