Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Mountain Pant [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased these pants for climbing in Colorado and hiking Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the Scottish Highlands and all the United Kingdom. They fit perfect and are wonderfully stretchy and snug to allow flexibility with athletic support for my legs. The first time out it rained and I put on a rain top and cover for my day pack, but found no need to put on rain pants. The pants repelled the water well enough that after the rain they dried out just fine. Even when wet on the outside they stay dry on the inside. You can’t go wrong with this garment. Also fits true to size.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Curse of the Sequel [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you are also a fan of the original Stretch Zion, be sure to only start with one pair of these, and don't be surprised if you want to return them. As the originals have been out of stock in my correct size...forever, I was beyond excited to see that there was a "new and improved" version and immediately ordered three pairs in different colors before my size was inevitably sold out again. What a mistake! The old version had a nice, flat, casual look that could pass well in most situations. They became my daily wear for years, and it's the first time I could say I loved a pair of pants. The new version, no way! The cut seems slightly different, doing weird things in the crotch, the fabric has a different, lighter drape to it that is more akin to other brands of "swishy pants" active-wear, so even if it's the same size, it will appear baggier because of how the material moves, and the feel of it seems less sturdy. The new fabric also has a strange sheen that takes it off the table for certain types of wear. And, maybe worst of all, the new fabric either doesn't hold dyes as well as the old version or Prana just didn't bother putting care into ensuring the colors were accurate. There is almost no meaningful distinction between the green and brown. A slight one, sure, but nowhere near the distinct and attractive coloring they used to have. In the photo, I have laid out the two old pair on the bottom with their new version on top, and in addition to the color, I realized you can get a sense of what I mean about the draping quality of the fabric. The new one just wants to be wrinkly and billowy, even when folded. Some changes, like the plastic button, I was a bit confused by at first, but makes sense from a comfort point of view instead of a metal post, but it is slightly harder to use and feels like a likely failure point with extended use. Why not a flat button made of metal to last? The other small design changes aren't something I immediately noticed or care about, so far. I guess the key pocket might be nice at some point. I'm definitely returning all three pair that I bought and searching for any remaining stock of the old version, maybe at an obscure retailer or lightly-used ones. The old version always remained in high demand, even as quality control started slipping. So, Prana, paraphrasing your own statement about the Zion II: your fans are speaking and let's hope you listen. "Improvements" should never, ever throw away what made the original great. These shouldn't even share the same name.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love them [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve lost a bit of weight and trying to find a pair of pants in a 35 has been difficult. Pockets pockets and more pockets. The extra waist adjustment and the overall quality is superior to any pants I’ve ever purchased

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor redesigns [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought 2 different prana zion 2 pants, the new material doesn't hang is nice it doesn't where is nice it's got a cheap button on it this easy to rip off all around it's a much cheaper pant and I returned both pairs now please go back to the original design it worked for a long time

Rated 3 out of 5 by from If you're expecting the original zion pant... [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The fit is true to size and same as the original zion pant. The material is definitely different and has a almost panty hose sheen to the pants that is a big negative for me. I will not buy more of these pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite all around pants. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the zion line. This new model went down in quality on the button. I do like the slightly less boot cut these have. The older model flared out a touch more. These are comfortable and breath well. Material is quite durable considering how comfortable it is. So far the material sheds off liquids well and they dry really fast when wet. They have not stained easy either. I do wish they put the cargo pocket on both sides.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for Climbing & Hiking [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wear these bouldering, sport climbing and hiking. They are comfortable, breathe well and feel stretchy. There's a built in belt at the waist, allowing you to fit the pants just right and it comes with side zip cargo pocket. It also comes with buttons allowing you to secure your cuffs, should you want to shorten the length to about halfway up your shin. Compared to other pants, however, these look a bit baggy on me whether I'm wearing a 28x28 or a 30x30 slim (5'3 male with an athletic build). The side pocket also seems to jut out a bit even when not in use, making the whole aesthetic a bit inappropriate to truly replace your pair of nice khakis, although it's a good enough substitute if you don't need them for the strictest of business casual settings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Casual Camo [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the Camo print. I was looking for some casual camo and this fit the bill. The pattern is not too bold and of course the comfort of Prana Stretch Zion pants is top of the list. I'm 6-3, 210lbs normally wear 36 and the 36 was spot on. These also have a button at calf height so you can roll up the legs slightly and button them up.
