Product Reviews
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Jacket! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Everything you would want for in a waterproof jacket. Never thought a waterproof jacket could be so breathable! And the stretch on this is a bonus! It has a elastic band on the hood so the jacket will move with you, but the downside is that wearing a cap would be uncomfortable with the hood. I used to go with a softshell combined with a goretex jacket for wet days, but now i just need 1 jacket. Only reason why i gave 4 stars is that it is hard to work on the zip. It feels abit rough and takes some effort pulling it up. Don't think it a defect on mine as other jackets felt the same. But despite that its a bury jacket for everyday adventure. Take note the sizing is based on european size which runs smaller.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought this jacket after I bought this jacket after reading about 75,000 reviews/ranking/ratings online, and struggling to find anything that fit my needs. I was looking for a lightweight, breathable, waterproof softshell jacket. This is seemingly a goldilocks set of criteria, and yet Rab has hit them all. The Kinetic Plus is nice and light, easily packable, and strechy enough to not be noticed when hiking long distances with a pack on. I am a sweaty human, but this jacket has significantly reduced my stops to remove/put on layers. I honestly don't think there is a better jacket out there in the softshell catergory, and definitely not at the price. Cannot recommend enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've had this jacket for I've had this jacket for a few weeks now and I have been really pleased with it. I have worn it in persistent rain and the water just rolls off the fabric (although that's probably mostly due to the DWR coating at this stage in its life). It is a lovely soft, stretchy fabric. I am a tall and skinny build and usually between a Medium and a Large, so opted for the Large. The sleeves are a perfect length for me. The body a little baggy even with a couple of layers underneath, but I would rather that than it being too tight. The hood fits well and moves with my head without obstructing my vision. An excellent lightweight jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent jacket - really great Excellent jacket - really great to have a thin softshell that's also waterproof. A rarity, and a nice compromise between a thin softshell, or a full waterproof. One thing I would comment on is the sizing: I don't know if Rab have changed their sizing model, but I used to fit a Rab Small *perfectly*. In fact, all my other Rab gear (some of it a year old, some of it 10 years old) is all size Small and all fits perfectly. I originally bought this jacket in a Small - for obvious reasons - and it didn't fit. I ended up getting a Medium, which is a perfect fit. So perhaps one to be wary of. Depending on what you're used to buying in Rab sizing, you may be looking to scale up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the perfect jacket This is the perfect jacket for bike commuting. I packs down to the size of a small water bottle, it is light wights, form fitting with a long enough tail to work well for biking, and breathes really well so I don't get sweaty. The jacket is perfect for Denver commuting because it shields the wind chill in the morning and keeps me dry during afternoon rain showers. I've tried several jackets designed specifically for the purpose of bike commuting and none have come close to the performance of the Kinetic Plus. For a breathable wind and water proof jacket, I cannot recommend this product enough.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great all around jacket [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The jacket is light stretchy and waterproof. It is also breathable and windproof which is great during humid and windy weather. The only con would be the hood which is not adjustable and on the small side to wear over helmet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kinetic Plus Jacket Bought this jacket to keep in my backpack when mountain biking as a warm windproof layer mainly for the cooler months of the year. However just recently (June) I've used it as a waterproof, I remained perfectly dry after 2 to 3hrs of mountain biking. Although not designed primarily for mountain biking the fit is superb, the sleeve length is bang on, it is a fairly slim fit so ideal for bike wear. Due to the stretchy nature of the material you hardly notice you are wearing it unlike other jackets. All in all an ace bit of kit and this is from somebody who normally doesn't post reviews!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I want Managed to get this jacket for a great price and I am so happy with it, I am usually a medium but after reading the reviews of how tight fitting it is I decided to buy a medium and large and send one back. Once they arrived I tried them both on and decided on the medium because it looked miles better. I think this jacket is supposed to be a slim fit and makes it look more stylish, the people who are ordering a bigger size are missing the point! As for the jacket it's self the material is nice and soft next to skin and is so breathable that you won't overheat. The hood has a velcro bit on the back to make the hood a bit tighter which works a treat for me as I have a small head. All in all so happy with the jacket

Will the hood on the rab kinetic plus fit over a baseball hat?

Asked by: Snoshoeguy
Hey there thanks for the great question. I would say sort of. The Men's Kinetic Plus Jacket has an inner gasket in the hood that sits snug against your forehead. You could probably secure it around just the crown and leave the brim sticking out into the rest of the hood. I think it would really depend on the hat how well it would work. I wouldn't try and squeeze the baseball hat under the stretchy part though. Sorry I couldn't give a more solid answer but i hope this still helps!
