Rated 5 out of 5 by from I manage at least 2 I manage at least 2 long distance hikes per year and spend a lot of time outdoors on my landscape and wildlife photography. I aim for light/ultralight kit and had been using an earlier version of a gore paclite jacket from another manufacturer that frankly started to wear (abrasion) very early on. The Meridian using paclite-plus is a massive improvement in material. You can feel the difference and I'm confident it's going to be with me for years. Of benefit to me is that it's a regular fit .. ( Allowing me use layers when required .. ) We don't all have 6-packs..So points for that. Pros : Paclite plus now tougher with minimal weight gain, pit-zips and general cut of jacket Cons: None so far

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great waterproofing, I have used Great waterproofing, I have used it in a few rain showers now and seems to keep me nice and dry. Yet to try it in any prolonged rain but I have no doubt it will hold up to that well too. Jacket seems to fit slightly large compared to other rab products so I would consider sizing down. I initially bought a size L as it is advertised as having the same chest as my Microlight alpine which I have a large in. I did need to size down to a Medium however. As always, great customer service from the Rab team. Both my Large and replacement Medium orders were shipped speedily and with no hassle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect everyday coat [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Perfect coat features. Arm pits zips and great pocket placement. Good everyday coat but runs tight for a medium. Size up if you want run for a warm layer underneath.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Four and a half stars Four and a half stars Good: Gore-Tex Paclite, compact, lightweight, weather protection, excellent proper hood, venting zips, Rab design and overall quality, good fit allowing room for layers. Less good: front zip feels poor quality and doesn’t run freely, supplied stuff sack is too small, outer fabric might prove a little delicate even for lightweight Gore-Tex Paclite (time will tell). Sum up: a practical and generally excellent jacket which would be even better with nicer zips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this jacket. So I love this jacket. So well made and designed, and feels great to wear. Also fits me well, the arms aren’t too long like many other waterproof jackets I’ve tried. The hood fitting is particularly good. It would be nice to have an inside pocket, but no big deal. The fabric is a little noisy, but not very noticeable. All in all this is a great jacket.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Huge hood to accommodate a Huge hood to accommodate a cycling helmet but if you're not wearing a cycling helmet it looks odd and was very uncomfortable. That continued in the neck which is oversized and baggy with a stiffened zip section that means the neck didn't sit right if the coat was unzipped. Very unsatisfied but grateful for refund.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mr First impressions: tight under the arms and fairly close fitting, extremely light weight and good looking manufacture. Usually a large gives me enough room, this is border line. Disappointed label advises pockets cannot protect electronics since condensation will occur.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Alec Meridian Army - Hardshell large for a 40" chest will take light fleece. Not right on 34" waist. I like the armpit vents. Good protection from heavy rain. Peak front is moldable but is generally OK and provides good cover with elasticated sides. Well worth the money.

CHEST: Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.

WAIST: Measure around the narrowest point, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.

HIP: Stand with feet together and measure around the fullest point of the hip, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.


RAB FIT GUIDE
SLIM FIT: Rab Slim Fit garments are designed to be worn closer to the body or over layers such as base-layers and light mid-layers. Close fitting for maximum performance when moving dynamically.

REGULAR FIT: Designed to be versatile, Rab Regular Fit garments are not closely fitted for cross-seasonal use and multi-layering. Garments are contoured with room for movement.
