Women’s Firewall JacketThis is a good waterproof jacket apart from one feature, the pit zips. They allow you to take your whole arm out which is good but the zip stops right in my armpit which I find really uncomfortable. Normally pit zips come further down the body which I really like but I find these really restrictive and I have to lift my arms up to let any heat out. I think it’s a strange design and they should be called arm zips not pit zips. I would prefer the zip to not come as far down the arm but go further down the body. Unfortunately I didn’t realise how uncomfortable this would be until I had worn the jacket so I will have to live with it but I am disappointed with it.

A great jacket. So manyA great jacket. So many companies make terrible colours for women but this is great. I found my usual size too tight around the chest and waist with even just a sweatshirt underneath. So I went up a size. Much better fit in those areas now but it means it’s quite long. But that does mean my bum is well covered in the rain although could get slightly annoying on longer walks. This is maybe the only thing I’d adjust- sizing.

Secure waterproof layer - fits over other clothingI've had my Firewall jacket about a year now so plenty of opportunity to test it. Thoroughly recommended it's waterproof, packs down small enough to carry around "just in case" and best of all you can wear it over other layers. So on a Glacier in Iceland with other clothing on for warmth I was easily able to fit the Firewall over the top when it started raining, then snowing. The fit is generous which is really helpful, I couldn't get on with my last "tight fit" waterproof. Especially helpful for women as we tend to come in many shapes and sizes in the upper half. The colour is great - really visible and great on photos. My only disappointment is the length of the arms. I'm not sure where these gorilla women live but a shorter arm length in the larger sizes would be great. That and a stuff sack as I had to find one to carry it around and keep it clean in my sack

Love the jacket. I boughtLove the jacket. I bought a size bigger and it fits nicely with layers underneath. Huge pockets and useful vent holes. Unfortunately the side pockets get covered up with rucksack straps which is frustrating. Overall though this is a good buy and one I expect to wear fro many years

Great colour, very waterproof butGreat colour, very waterproof but not too sweaty for when it’s raining but warm. I’m 5’8’’ and it’s a good length - covers my bum & the sleeves are also lovely & long (might be a bit too long for petites). Fab hood - nice & roomy & the peak keeps the rain out of your face well.

Mrs CLoved the fit and feel of this jacket, so nice to have a slightly longer fit. But only bought it in March and worn it today in rain for it's 1st proper walk and I'm wet. It wasn't heavy rain and it has let water in through the zip halfway down the front. I'm so disappointed.

Worth every penny!I am 6' foot and this jacket fits great, long at the back, lovely long sleeves and the hood is great, it's huge so comes right down over your eyes to keep the rain out. Would absolutely recommend to anyone.

What's the difference in the sizing between 14 and L14, in the Rab Firewall jacket sizing?
Asked by: Anonymous
Hey there, thanks for your question.
They are actually the same, the older colorways had their sizes displayed differently so that's why you see that L/14 and XS/8. If you zoom in on the navy blue you can see how the label inside has all 3 of the sizings listed (US/UK/JP)
The sizes all line up as follows:
I hope this helps!
HOW to MEASURE CHEST / BUST: Measure horizontally around the fullest part of the chest and bust.
WAIST: Measure horizontally around the narrowest part of the waist, your natural waist, at the small of the back or where your body bends if you lean to the side.
ARM LENGTH: Measure arm length from neck to wrist fold along the top of the arm with the arm fully extended.
RAB FIT GUIDE SLIM FIT: Garments that are designed to be worn closer to the body or over layers such as baselayers and light mid-layers. Slim fit garments are close fitting for maximum performance when moving dynamically.
REGULAR FIT: Designed to be versatile, Rab's Regular Fit garments are not closely fitted making them ideal for cross-seasonal use and multi-layering. Regular fit garments are contoured, with room for movement.
EXPEDITION FIT: Expedition garments are designed to be worn in colder conditions over more layers of clothing than other Rab fits and are oversized slightly to allow for this.
