The jacket is extremely lightweightThe jacket is extremely lightweight so will pack very easily and will be a good holiday pack-away jacket as well as for hiking. I have the Atlantis colour which is lovely and vibrant. I ordered a size 12 as this was the only size available. I am usually a size 10 but wanted a little extra room for layers. It fits just as I wanted and the length is good as it covers my bottom (but I am only just a little over 5' tall). it doesn't look or feel like much for the money but I think good technical wear is often understated. I haven't tried it in the rain or washed it yet. overall I am very happy with it the only thing I would have like is a removable hood.

Cosy and lightVery soft and stellar warmth for weight. Rivals down. I'm 5'3" and 35"-27"39" and the size 12 leaves ample room for layering underneath. I throw this on over my hardshell as a belay jacket down to about 9 celsius. I wouldn't use this while active, but it's perfect as a stationary piece.
It loses a star for two reasons. 1) no adjustability with the hood means it can be kind of annoying and slip over my eyes. 2) while it's super functional this is an ugly jacket. I don't love it for wearing to the pub/cafe on the way home. Some synth jackets are more versatile in this regard.

Evelyn PMy husband brought this for my birthday and I am very impressed!!!
Initially my first though was that it is so light I didn't think it would make me feel snug and warm, but, I was so wrong! And once you get used to the fact that it is so light you don't feel like you are wearing a jacket at all, you won't want to take it off, you also don't need to wear thick fleeces :o)
The jacket is a size 12, I'm a size 12-14 and there is plenty of room for layers and freedom of movement... The perfect walking jacket for cold weather :o)

Love the dropped tail (everyLove the dropped tail (every jacket should have one!), the colour (teal), the fabric, the incredible light weight and the way it packs down to nothing and the fact that it isn’t down and isn’t quilted - so hard to find anything that isn’t - so much easier to wash and care for. The jacket has plenty of room over my shoulders and back but too much around my midriff (risk of being draughty, although plenty of room for another layer) and is a bit long at the front - could be too long for some waterproofs to cover. The sleeves are a good length but the lining is inclined to drag through as you pull it on which is a bit annoying. However, overall I love it, and it works well in my outdoor swimming kit. Wish there was one in pink or a zingy lime green - what about it Rab?

Warm, versatile, runs big, lots of static[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is really everything I need it to be. Warm, soft handed, extremely wind resistant, water resistant, packable, versatile. I've used it front country and back country camping, bike commuting, hiking the Superior Trail, walking the dog, on chilly brewery patios, and in varying weather conditions. It's not a winter coat, but has worked well for me during leisurely snowshoe hikes and as a warm layer during winter camping.
There are 2 drawbacks that forced my 4-star rating. It runs large. I ordered the size suggested by the sizing chart (the same size as my 2 other Rab jackets) and it's easily a full size too big. The biggest issue I have is that this coat generates more static than anything I've ever owned. I live in Minnesota where it is extremely dry during the cold months and the static can be unbearable at times. Overall however, I'm happy with my purchase and recommend this jacket. I would suggest considering a size down.

Bought this in two sizesBought this in two sizes to replace the previous much-loved Xenon I had (2010). Neither fit - larger size was huge on my body and short on the arms; smaller size fit my body but arms were hopeless. Neither layered well. I've sent both back and it's been two weeks and no refund. Would give zero stars if I could.

I have several Rab jacketsI have several Rab jackets in my wardrobe and was drawn to purchasing the new specification regular fit Xenon.I could not believe how light this jacket was.I have just come back from the Scottish Highlands on a coach holiday, where there was constant temperatures change.
The Scottish Highlands cool temperature was repelled by the incredibly light ATMOS recycled insulation weighing only 60g/m.This kept me incredibly warm in the biting Scottish weather. This is now my lightest Rab jacket to date.
The jacket features a 2-way opening YKK VISLON front zip with insulated internal zip baffle and chin guard.
It has 2 YKK zipped hand warmer pockets.
1 YKK internal zipped pocket, doubles as integrated stuff sack. This generous pocket fits a mobile telephone.
The jacket has elasticated cuffs that fit the arms well.
There is a hem drawcord that sinches the waist snug to the wearer.Overall, I impressed by how light this jacket and it punches a lot of quality with its new ATMOS recycled insulation.

Really pleased with this jacket.Really pleased with this jacket. Very warm and so light. Packs down very small - ideal for taking on holiday and/or carrying around 'just in case'. I have long arms and this fits well. The hood is a bit snug, but I usually wear a hat if it is cold so this isn't really a complaint.
