I used the Salewa Dropline this year for my 3,100 mile thru hike of the Continental Divide Trail. I have previously thru hiked the Appalachian Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail in a different brand of trail runner.
I was hesitant to use them this year for the CDT but I had heard good things so I decided to try them out. This is the best thru hiking shoe I have ever used. I remained injury free, the outlasted all other shoes I have have used or seen fellow hikers use, and they look great. I routinely got 750-900 miles on each pair I used... that is unheard of for thru hiking.

I purchased these shoes to be used as an approach shoe as well as a trail running shoe and they well exceeded my expectations. The comfort and rocker is relatable to hoka, and the sticky rubber underneath insures no slip. The fit at first is fairly snug, almost like putting a sock on(due to integrated gator) and was a bit concerning at first but they stretched enough and now are perfect. Highly recommend!!

The arch support is great. The sole is grippy. The upper is swift but firm fitting. Terrain depended I'll be in my droplines or chacos, but the chacos are going to be seeing a lot less love now that I have the dropline. Runs a little tight, so you may want to consider ordering a half size up.

Highly Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First time buying this brand and very satisfied with quality and comfort! Lots of support but light weight. Great choice for both gravel trails as well as elevated hikes.

A great dry weather option that delivered on it’s no blisters promise. I used these for a fair amount of 35# Rucking, on tarmac in warm to hot weather, and the grippy soles paid for it dearly.
