Product Reviews

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Itchy, squeezes my elbow, and unravels like crazy Looks nice but is pretty sheer- I was a little embarrassed to discover my nipples showing when I went out in daylight. The material is very scratchy compared to my other Smartwool products and there is a weird section in the elbow that is tighter than the rest of the fabric so it squeezes my arm uncomfortably. Definitely not the cozy second skin I'm used to with SW products. I wore it for less than an hour before I had to change into something more comfortable/less see-through, and I noticed it is already snagged/unraveling in 2 places. Definitely the most disappointing Smartwool purchase I've ever made.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great fit, a little itchy [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this for winter runs, etc. Wore it for the first time at a 5 day highline festival in Moab during thanksgiving.. I preferred my 250 baselayer over this (even with my really expensive SV puffy on), as temps never got above 40 but my boyfriend wore his the entire time. I thought the intraknit was a little itchy, and I could feel the varied stitching (got an XS so it was quite tight). The smell lingered a bit on the pits- not quite as stink resistant as my 250 shirt or the socks! Arms are oddly long as well, so I just wish they had thumb holes haha. Overall though, I think it's a good shirt and the real test will be running in cool morning Texas weather.. will update!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for high intensity activities in cool to cold weathe [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second piece of Intraknit 200. I also have the 1/4 zip. I find this piece form fitting and it moves and stays with me. The length is generous in the body so it stays tucked in no matter what! The arms are also generous which is ideal as I use my arms fully extended and it helps keep me warmer. It is a smooth weave and I find it durable wearing alone or under a lite jacket. It is superior in terms of keeping me warm through warm-up, sweaty activity and cool down. I can wear it a few times before washing as it doesn't get funky like synthetics. I prefer to hand wash and hang dry. I am now a convert from all my synthetic base layers. #SmartwoolLove

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful, restrictive, itchy The arms are about two sizes too small for the rest of the garment. There's a weird pinching that happens at the armpit seems. Which is so not like the normal base layers. It was also very itchy, in a way that the wool never is. Also, the color is much darker in person than it is in the pictures. And honestly I don't mind the color, but I don't care for being so different from the pictures. Just very uncomfortable and I'm surprised that it sells.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great, but snags easily I love this top, it fits like a glove, and is comfortable all day while skiing. Only bummer is how easily the intraknit snags...I was so sad the first time I put on this top and my intraknit leggings they caught super easily and snagged, making me question the integrity of the craftsmanship. Still love it, but really wish that wasn't the case! I love to use my gear hard and for many years, and am curious to see how long these layers last due to this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Versatile [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really great sweater for any occasion. I wear it running regularly in northern Mich winters, but I also was able to wear it with jeans for Thanksgiving. Love the color and pattern. Not soft, definitely not a snuggly sweater, but it's a great layer for cold days and doesn't get funky after a few runs. Arrived with some snags which sucks but isn't worth the hassle for an exchange. 5'6", 130lbs, runner body, no boobs, ordered medium and definitely fits snug but can still get another layer underneath. Two thumbs up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best cold weather and sweaty activity base layer. Period. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best base layer for any cold weather and sweaty aerobic activity. Intraknit far exceeded my expectations for performance while backcountry and nordic skiing! Moves sweat lickety-split like so you don't get cold when you stop. However wasn't quite warm enough for stop and go of resort skiing. I prefer Merino 250 for alpine days. #SmartwoolLove

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality garment but slight issue I have bought quite a few SmartWool products over the years. Although they are priced higher than other brands the quality is usually very good. I bought this base layer top for my fiance who likes to go outside in the winter time but has a hard time staying warm. When she opened the packaging she noticed a snag on one of the shoulders right away. We'll probably call customer service and see if we can just exchange it. I feel it's safe to say that this is a one-time thing and have been happy with the quality of the garments that I have bought from SmartWool in the past.
