Product Reviews
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Slight improvement I was hoping this would be an improvement over the last 150 tee and closer to the iteration before that. What kills the cut is the raglan sleeve that flares at the arm and leaves excess draping in the underarms. The upside is it seems longer and fits in the torso more than the last design and they got rid of the elastic collar and sleeves that didn't hold up very well after washes. Still not sold on the wrap around side seam as it just became more of a pain to fold as time went by. Will still always long for the crew neck design with the flat lock seams that came in the box as those held up so much better. Searching elsewhere for new everyday tees.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I travel extensively and have been using Smartwool base layer tee's as undergarments for years because of the quality and odor protection. I bought 3 new ones (2 black, 1 blue) and have been so disappointed for one major reason. After several months of use and washings, the necklines on all 3 are totally stretched and bagging. I am embarrased to wear them if any part of the neckline is visible. My older tees had a double stitched neckline and never bagged. These are terrible. I am going to see if I can return under the quarantee policy. Unfortunately it doesn't look like the double stitch necklines are still made

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lasted about 3,000 miles. I bought this shirt a few summers ago to hike in and loved it enough to take it with me on my thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. I wore this shirt every single day for almost 5 months and in total have hiked almost 3,000 miles in it (including the hikes before the AT). Afterward, there were a few holes from wear and tear, but that's to be expected after that kind of use and it was still completely functional. It was comfortable as can be, form-flattering, it kept me dry, cool (even in the crazy southern heat), and smelling better than my fellow hikers. I'm buying the same shirt again for my next thru.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for my needs Bought this shirt for comfort during aerobic outdoor exercise. The bright habanero color is good for additional visibility while riding my bike. Today was warm and rainy and I wore this shirt in comfort while bike-riding through the rain, then kept it on and worked at the barn and rode two horses wearing the same shirt as the day cooled. This shirt kept me comfortable the whole time. Four stars not five is because the shirt is cut slightly too narrow through the hip, but the short sleeve is the perfect length, not too short like some women's shirts. Four and a half stars! Rated 2 out of 5 by from High quality shirt, but not for those who are more plus size While I liked the quality of the shirt, it didn't fit. I typically wear XL in my everyday clothing, but this XL didn't fit like my other shirts. It felt very tight. I loved the length and color, but it was just a little bit too tight for me to feel comfortable in. If it was just a little big bigger, it would have fit. As a suggestion, have larger sizes for women's clothing or have a unisex fit. I think there is a market for larger, good quality wool clothing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Shape changed drastically after line drying I purchased this shirt prior to a 2-month research trip to East Africa. The lightweight wool is ideal for long days working outdoors in rural areas, and I was really pleased with the shirt at first. After hand washing I hung it on a line to dry. The shirt must not have been completely straight as I hung it, and now the two side seams are twisted around the waist, with one extending from the armpit down across the front and the other extending down around the lower back. I've tried washing again and re-shaping while the wool is wet, even putting the shirt on while damp and gently re-shaping the seams around my body as it dries, but the change seems irreversible. The new positions of these seams make the fit uncomfortably tight in odd places, such as in one shoulder and the opposite hip. I'm surprised and disappointed, especially for such an expensive t-shirt, that a pretty innocuous hand-washing and line drying could cause this issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight and comfy I got a long sleeve Smartwool shirt a couple years ago, and it became my favorite winter baselayer. I find Merino wool to be the best material by far for temperature regulation in cold temps and sweatiness. So I thought I'd try a lighter weight short sleeve, for springs and summers in the outdoors. I've only had the 150 Base Layer s/s for a couple weeks, but so far I really like it. It's comfortable, lightweight, wicking, allows ease of movement. I will be taking this on all my backpacking trips and warm weather hikes. Sizing- I'm a 5'4" woman, 36" chest, the Medium fits great- form-fitting without being tight.
