Product Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Comfort and Performance I have finally experienced a true fishing glass with the Techlite Polarchromic Copper Mirror lens. The transition lens is subtle yet works great. I have used these in full sun to mostly cloudy. The clarity and depth of view are great. I can see fish and my flies much better than the "these will suffice" glasses I had been using. Installing the integrated strap is a bit of a hassle, and I think could be done easier. I have almost tore the rubber temple pieces trying to remove and install the strap. Otherwise, the strap is worth putting on and already has kept my glasses from going in the drink. Too bad these glasses cannot actually catch the fish!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great glasses, slid down a lot The chromopop is absolutely amazing with the brown Lens and green tint. Everything g really pops on the water. The clarity is great as well. Great polarization. They aren’t too heavy and they won’t put pressure on the side of your head after a long day on the water. Great that they come with a lanyard. The one con I have with the lenses is they don’t fit the bridge of my nose well. They slid down a lot! They have even fallen off. The bridge of my nose is relatively flat so I can’t really say much. Every company tries to make glasses to fit everyone. These just don’t fit mine particularly well. Maybe a little more grip or nose pad type.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really like these glasses. They Really like these glasses. They fit really well, and have really great eye coverage for the really bright conditions on the mountain in the snow during patrol shifts, or on the water sailing. Built-in leash can be a little difficult to switch back and forth from, but once installed is a really nice feature, especially out on the water. The chromopop glass lens is really clear, has awesome contrast, and seems that it will have great longevity and scratch resistance (time will tell). I do not do much fishing, but these glasses are clearly applicable in numerous other sporting pursuits. Well done Smith, you continue to be my primary eye protection source.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great lenses The lenses are great. I wish they’d put these glass igniter lenses in some other frames. I ordered these online as a warranty replacement (smith is AMAZING about their warranty) Because of course my old model isn’t made anymore. I am small with a small face, so these slip down my nose a little. I’ll get a croaky I can tighten up to stop this- the integrated one they provide is just a long strap that isn’t helpful in that way and is too long and floppy even if they are down around my neck. I like the idea of it, but it needs to be able to tighten. Anyhow, amazing lenses. Smith, please put these in a more stylish and smaller frame!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite Fishing Glasses I think the Guide's Choice are as about as good as you can get. I have owned techlite polarchromic ignitors, chromopop bronze mirror and techlite polarchromic copper. I do prefer the glass over the poly mainly because I found the chromopop lens much more difficult to keep clean. Seemed to get and hold smudges much, much easier than the techlite. My eyes didn't notice a definitive functional separation between the two optically. We adventure river fish for smallmouth which involves some rough hikes, wet wading and whitewater...frames have help up well to the abuse. Customer service when needed has also bee solid. I will continue to be a Smith customer moving forward.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very happy with these as outdoor sunglasses; 100% recommended. Amazing glasses; would 100% recommend to any outdoor enthusiast. Outstanding clarity, colors actually pop as advertised! Grey lenses work in bright and overcast weather. I actually wear these for better vis while driving in rain. Nose bridge occasionally creates hotspot but overall very comfortable to wear for all day activities. Fits well under curved hatbrims. Definitely a larger look; still works with a smaller face size if you like larger glasses. Only gripe is that the matte finish makes the plastic frames feel cheaper than the price dictates. In gloss they would have a more premium feel. Overall I love them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty Sweet I've had these glasses for a few weeks and I really like them. I have the glass lenses and they are a bit heavier than the plastic lenses. On occasion they slide down my nose a bit. I think I can get the ear hooks adjusted so they feel better and stay put. I'm a ski patroller, and I think the tint is perfect for blue-bird snow days on the slopes when the view is very bright. Lenses are very clear, no distortion, and wrap nicely providing great protection. I'm also interested to see how they perform in flat light while skiing. The only reason I gave 4 and not 5 stars is because the fit is not perfect and they slide down my nose. I'm guessing I can adjust them to fit better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great glasses and design I have been a costa guy for years until the past year when I got my wife a set of Ridgewell. I liked the lenses so much I sold my costa and switched over to Smith. The glass lenses whether Techlite or the new chromapop glass IMO are just more clear and crisp then Costa to my eyes. The guide choice are a great frame for a wide variety of face shapes. I generally dont like "huge" looking glasses for my face type but these just work for me. Great fit and feel and you can feel the quality in them. I wish Smith overall offered more frame choices for smaller face folks or more variety of frame colors with glasses lenses but that has nothing to do with the review of these glasses.
