The Smith Vantage MIPS Helmet allows you to take full advantage of ski and snowboard season without sacrificing style, comfort, or protection. Its hybrid SL construction is made up of a hard shell with lightweight in-mold shell and a BoaFS 360 Fit System. You won’t have to worry about this helmet fitting your head shape as this dial system permits both forward and lateral adjustment. Should you take the inevitable fall, The Vantage MIPS (multi-directional impact protection system) along with its revolutionary Aerocore construction reduces potential brain damage because it lessens rotational forces and absorbs more impact than traditional foams. Temperature regulation and airflow are both improved thanks to the Koroyd material and three-layer process made up of an interior foam liner, lower friction liner, and an elastomer attachment. You have the ability to control the temperature even in extremely cold conditions as a result of the AirVac 2 ventilation. This is comprised of twenty-one adjustable vents, and they also provide superior anti-fogging capabilities. Additional features include fully removable and machine washable Snapfit Sl2 ear pods, a removable, ultralight goggle lock, nanosilver performance lining, and audio compatibility should you want to bump to some beats while tackling the slopes.

Best in classI've just purchased a Vantage helmet for my son after owning one myself for the past year - if these helmets aren't the best on the market then I don't know what is. Super comfortable fit with good adjustment, light weight, great ventilation and looks great.
I've used mine exclusively off piste in Niseko which can get very cold and windy. The adjustable ventilation is a big plus - the Vantage helmet kept my head and ears warm and toasty on the lifts and nice and cool on the runs down.
Some have complained that the adjustable boa catches on the collar of your jacket inadvertently adjusting the fit. While you can occasionally feel it catching, I have not experienced the adjustment changing nor really noticed it.
A little expensive but well worth it.

Perfect helmetI bought these helmets for my husband and daughter who are very picky! I actually bought 5 different helmets and let them try each one. They both loved the smith vantage helmet the best. They said they don’t even notice a helmet is on their head. They love the boa and the adjustable vents. Mind you they have always refused to wear a helmet until trying the vantage. They wear it every time they board now. It’s an awesome helmet. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

nice helmetpurchased last month as an upgrade after a significant fall skiing with a hard head hit. Very warm and comfy. I realized MIPS is a definite must after the fall. Expensive end of the helmet spectrum but really, can you put a price on your brain?? Very stylish, Just wish they offered more colors!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Mixed impressions.Skied with it 3 times last week for several hours at a time. It fits well, I am between a medium and a large so I got the large. I would say it must run small, since I can't see how it opens up much more.
The ventilation is good at temperatures above freezing. It was starting to get a bit cold at 18 F.
Regarding the liner, from one review that gave it the top rating "with a soft but supportive liner". To me it feels like sandpaper on my ears, that got sore after a few hours, unlike my old Giro 9.10. At least when it is colder I'll wear a balaclava so my ears will be protected. Maybe the'll become callused.
The impact protection works, as I found yesterday when clobbered with the chairlift safety bar by a novice snowboarder.
Fits to my Smith IO goggles well.
Overall, a nice helmet but I'm only giving it a 3 because of the uncomfortable ear pads. Maybe they have a workaround? [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

T Swizzle from
What A StealFirst off, apologies for the pun.. I know, it’s probably been said a million times here. All in all, I’m very happy with my purchase. The Smith Vantage is by far the nicest helmet I’ve purchased for myself and I’ll never look back. The adjustable fit, multiple open/close vents, weight-savings, and safety of helmet are superb. All for a great price.

Nice helmet, bad fitThe Vantage MIPS is a nice looking, full featured helmet, however its made to fit a head shape very different than mine apparently. My head measures 62cm, so I purchased the large, but upon arrival, it was extremely tight, like causing headaches in less than 5 minutes of wearing uncomfortable, even with the loosest setting on the BOA system. I returned the helmet and purchased an XL from another vendor- but even the XL was still uncomfortable! At the same time I got the XL, I also purchased a Smith Level MIPS in XL, and while i probably could have gotten away with a large, when tightened down most the way it fits and feels great! I've purchased helmets for lots of different sports and never had such a poor fitting helmet as the Vantage- perhaps if you have a very round head it would fit better. Additionally, I find the BOA system crappy- the adjustment knob is too small and without enough grip to make it easily adjustable with gloves on. The adjustment system used on the Level is much better. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Nice helmet, wacky sizingLove the helmet, but the sizing is completely misleading. Sizes are measured in CM which are not possibly accurate. This helmet in XL size which is 63+ CM does not even come close to fitting me, but other Smith helmets in XL size with the same CM specs fit great. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Great helmet!I tried a few helmets and this is the only
One that fit low enough over my forehead with my thick hair without going a size up and having the sides not tightened enough:) wish all the vents opened though instead of just a couple. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
