Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to manipulate I've only managed a few indoor and two outdoor sessions with this rope so far, but I'm super impressed. Apart from the flawless build quality, what sticks out most is that it's super easy to manipulate and tie knots. I had a 9.9mm by another brand before and it was way stiffer, and wouldn't knot or feed into my belay anywhere near as easy as this rope. I'm now a Sterling convert. My only criticism is that the middle marker on mine is not very obvious. My last rope was also blue and had a jet-black marker, but this one is just a slightly darker section - not easy to see in anything other than perfect lighting. Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite rope I own 8 ropes and i always reach for this one first. I've been dragging this across large crystalline granite that is sharp as broken glass for the past year and a half. I am so rough on this rope and it just refuses to give up. Even if it wasn't the toughest rope in my arsenal, i would still reach for it because it is more supple than the others and offers buttery soft clipping every time. Sterling is my brand and this is my absolute favorite rope. I named her Ropunzal. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Rope! I bought this rope to use as my regular outdoor climbing rope. I went with the 80m so I would never have to worry about running out of rope, but in my experience, a 70 would've been just fine. I haven't climbed something even close to the height in which I'd need an 80. Nonetheless, if my ends start to fray I won't have an issues cutting them off. This rope has come in contact with mud, rock surface, and dirt and it has maintained it's like-new state! Would recommend washing every now and then though as your hands do get dirty after belaying! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid rope! I love this rope! It’s thick enough to offer a good purchase for larger hands but thin enough that it glides through a belay device without any resistance. Right from the get go this rope is supple and compliant, avoiding the stiff annoyance of some other ropes. I take pretty good care of her, minding rock drag and always using a tarp so I can’t speak to how much you can beat on it. But under my usage this rope is a beauty! Rated 5 out of 5 by from It’s A Rope exceptional in length. about 35m in my case. Very ropey. I used it and I did not die. All that I could ask for in a rope. comes very kinky—not like that, you dirty rascal—but it takes a little while to get the kinks out and restore it to ropey glory. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Rope! The color is beautiful, the rope is designed for the porousness of the stone, light and easy to carry in your rope backpack. Super recommended! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Review for Sterling Rope Evolution Velocity 9.8 Bought this rope because I already have a 60m in the same style, and I needed some extra length to take on longer routes. ."Break in" was quick - three climbs - and after one full day at the crag, it feeds through a belay device real smooth, but doesn't feel like it'll slide through like a greasy noodle. My last rope did not come with a middle marker, but this one did. Added bonus [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great gym rope! I bought the 35m length of rope and it is a great gym rope. It feeds beautifully through the belay device and does not have a lot of rope drag on routes that my old rope does. The downside with having both of those features is when descending off a route the rope does feed pretty quickly through my belay device so I do wear belay gloves whenever I am belaying.
