The Sterling Rope Fusion Ion R 9.4mm Rope is a single rope that blends performance with a strong core. Intermediate climbers that are just now delving into the world of skinny ropes will be pleased with the 9.4mm diameter, as it will still work with their beginner belayer, yet handle like a pro rope should. You won't have to haul nearly as much weight up the climb, clipping is simple and you're still backed up by a tried and true core construction. The sheath has been twisted and then braided, providing a tough exterior that happens to look super rad too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The bees knees. The cat's pajamas. Hunky dory. As soon as I brought this to the crag, everyone wanted to use it on their project. I want to believe it doesn't make a HUGE difference, but man am I wrong. Carrying this thing up a route feels like you are free soloing, there's so little pull it's incredible. Not to mention it handles super well while belaying! I'll definitely scoop up another one from Sterling once this needs replacing! Plus, the green color looks great in photos... Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sick rope Bought this looking to go lighter than my sterling 9.8. I was leary of sterling since my other is super kinky. This rope instantly cleared up any doubts I had. It's super smooth (I got dry coat), will pay out smooth from a rats nest and seems to be holding up well. Though I only use it on routes where there's little to no drag and no hang dogging! That's what thicker ropes are for. The green is such a awesome color! Shoot, they all are! You can't go wrong with this rope!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING ROPE Took this rope out for it's maiden voyage this weekend in Rifle and DANG is it hot to trot. Lightweight, easy to clip with, easy to belay with. Super pleased with this baby. Psyched!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of compliments, easy belaying Great rope!! I got two separate compliments on the color as soon as I walked in the gym. More importantly, belaying with my (and my climbing partner’s) ATC was super smooth. Definitely recommend for indoors. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, smooth handling When I started climbing, everyone recommended I get a rope around 9.8-10.2 mm. I got a 9.8 Sterling. It's awesome and super durable, and I still use it all the time, but sometimes it gets pretty heavy on long routes. I wanted something a bit lighter for redpoint attempts and lighter sport climbing. This rope fits the bill, while still maintaining the awesome handling. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handles very nice I bought this rope several weeks ago and have been very happy with it. It handles well and is very light weight. The first day it was coiling a little when belaying, but since then it has had minimal coiling. I have not had it long enough to comment on durability, but found my previous Sterling rope very durable. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great rope! Perfect diameter rope to bring with ya up bigger walls. Needed a new 70m and have seen the great things Sterling has done through the years, I know I can trust their equipment. This rope definitely lives up to that! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great rope Was a little nervous about the diameter of the rope but after a few whips the rope out performed my expectations. Soft catches and easy to belay with (black diamond pilot) colors are vibrant! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
