FEATURES of the Tecnica Men's Cochise 120 DYN Ski Boot

  • All-mountain freeride ski boot
  • Designed to take you anywhere you want to go
  • PU Power Light Design construction makes this the most versatile, high performance boot available
  • Medium flex: For intermediate and/or average sized skiers
  • C.A.S. (Custom Adaptive Shape) system offers numerous fit options to accommodate even the most “problematic” of foot shapes
  • C.A.S. Liner - Medium fit. Anatomically shaped for optimal comfort and offer great heel hold. The internal part of the liner is shaped to match the foot while the exterior matches and conforms to the shape of the shell. The dual density micro-cell material is durable and easy to customize. Less prone to pack-out, maintaining the fit over a longer period of time.
  • C.A.S. Shell - Anatomical shape that matches the shape of the foot. This allows for a better out-of-the box initial fit. The dimples on the shell offer less surface tension and facilitate heating making customizing the shell easier. It retains the new shape better and longer.
  • Mobility Cuff - Metal-to-metal connection and the Self Adjusting System offers 42º range of motion, which reduces any kind of play. The result is great up-hill mobility with solid downhill performance.

Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boot I bought my boots only two weeks ago on the penultimate day of my ski holiday. This meant I only had a chance to try them for one day. My previous boots were 12 years old and a flex of 90, therefore this was a great leap forward. I felt an enormous improvement in my skiing ability with the new Tecnica boot. However after a few hours skiing the boot started to hurt on my soles near the metatarsal-phalanges region. I went back to the shop and discussed the issue with the bootfitter. Bootfitting will be necessary which I will do at the time of my next ski trip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit, good looks, solid performance... First new pair of boots in years, and I'm extremely happy!! I have had them on-mountain for a few days, and am impressed. My review of the Tecnica Cochise 120 (265), broken down: Packaging – pretty standard stuff here. Box in good order, each boot wrapped individually, hang-tag attached to one boot, toe-breaker paper stuffed into each boot (make sure you remove it before trying to put your foot in). Fit/Comfort – Full disclosure: I tried these boots (and others) on at a local outdoor store. The fit is perfect for my foot... mid volume, narrow’ish heel, wider toward the ball/toe. No bootfitter needed (yet). Fit is snug, but very comfortable – like a new pair of performance undies. Good and supportive heel pocket. Toes just touch the end, and pull back a smidge when flexing forward. Getting the boot on/off is not a big chore like I have had with other boots - reasonable amount of effort required for a boot of this performance level. Build – Not lightweight, but doesn’t feel like a brick on foot either. Shell feels solid. C.A.S. Liner is AMAZING… can’t feel any seams by foot, so less chance of hot-spots. Tongue is well-padded, and very supportive. Power strap is wide, and Velcro-laden. Plenty of strategic workable points for a bootfitter (marked w/ dot-grid patterns). Buckles are solid, micro-adjustable, lift lock out of the way when not buckled, and catches are repositionable (via screw). The buckles are really bright orange, which isn’t translated in many online photos. Performance – Hike-mode works well, and engages/locks positively. I’m not a touring/backcountry junkie, but still appreciate the walk-mode function for negotiation of stairs, walking to/from wherever. Flex is smooth and linear, not overly stiff (for me, 5’10”/~190lbs). Feels like all movement and power transferred efficiently to the ski. Absolutely no hot-spots or soreness after skiing all day… just the slightest bit of outer foot fatigue after a full day on the slopes. Extremely happy with these boots. Couldn’t be happier with these boots so far. I’ll update my review if things change (+ or -), after spending more time with them.
