Rated 3 out of 5 by from Its just OK The good: The backpack looks super nice and its comfortable like all north face backpack. It has an amazing system to pull up your tech inside that's is super helpful. It has a million pockets like all of their bags and its super sturdy let's see if it last past the lifetime warranty. However... The bad: It seems to look like it had more space than it actually does. It has no water bottle pocket (something I overlooked) and a bit on the heavier side; if you lift it with one hand you will think so but once it's on your back you won't notice. I would only use this to commute to the office or school if you have to only take a notebook and a laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A new concept that works well Was going for the larger sized version. However after trying both on at the store, the 28L version felt a little too big and boxy to practically travel with so I went with the 22L which is the right size in my opinion. The 'latch' opening is the best feature as I can access my stuff quickly and it is the main reason of purchase. It works well and I like it more and more. There is a little weight to it, but I don't feel it as much as I thought because the straps are rather well done and snug. It is the only backpack I know that stands 'firmly' on its own. Super nice when setting it down on the floor under a desk. Liberating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect commuter backpack for your laptop The backpack fits a 15" computer perfectly on the back compartment. There's also a small pocket in it, that has room for some cables or dongles, but hardly a power adapter will fit there, and if your laptop isn't too slim, there's a zipper of the pocket that might scratch your laptop. Inside the front compartment you can store headphones, some cables, a folded sweatshirt or jacket. It has a lot of pockets, useful only for slim objects. For example, it was hard to find the right pocket to store a macbook power adapter or it's extension cord. The straps are really comfortable, but the backpack is a little heavy even when empty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great bag, but for a specific kind of owner This is the bag I've always wanted. It's a big bag but the storage and interior volume is smaller than would appear at first glance. This is what the bag seems to be designed for, minimalist packing. I'm a minimalist packer in my daily commute, for weekend-warrior events, for road-trips, and for domestic airline travel. I pack light and this bag keeps me honest in my minimalist lifestyle. The bag provides good compartmentalization so that you get more utility from every part of the bag. I like the bag so much that I've purchased two 22L versions (grey--for my daily commute and black w/the pattern--for my weekends, road-trips, and domestic flights) and the 28L version in black with the pattern for my international travel and longer trips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Backpack for School I have thoroughly enjoyed using this backpack for college. I live on campus and end up walking nearly everywhere I go. This backpack is extremely comfortable and the frame keeps a load properly placed on your back to avoid discomfort. Even when I have upwards of thirty pounds in it I have no problem walking several miles with it on my back throughout the day. The organization is also fantastic and I have no problem fitting all of my school supplies in the backpack. It is, however, bulky so I may not recommend it as a carryon for a train or plane. Overall I highly recommend this bag and would definitely purchase it again. It is very convenient and works great. My favorite backpack that I have ever owned.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Peace of mind for a price I have the first version of this pack. I got it for the slick look and added protection for my tech. When I'm on my bicycle or longboard, I don't really have to worry about things bouncing around in there. That being said, don't plan on taking very much with you. I carry my tablet, laptop, charging cables, and a notepad, and that's about all you'll put in here. It's solid construction, and I LOVE the latch feature. For someone with moderate carpel tunnel/hand pain this was a game changer. It's not a cheap pack, but if you're hauling around sensitive equipment, this is pretty good. Not going for the newer version until this one wares out, which will be a while. ;)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pricy but worth the money! When I saw the first iteration of the access pack, I fell in love with the design and innovative features. It's not everyday you see a company trying to reinvent the wheel, but The North Face did a great job with the access pack. But there were some drawbacks for the first run. The design was a little bulky, it didn't standup on it's own, it was heavy for what it could carry, which wasn't much, and of course, no where to place a canteen or water bottle on the outside of the pack. But that all changed with the second iteration of the access pack, the access pack 22L and 28L. The design is a lot less "turtle shell" like and of course it can stand up on its own (good job to The North Face for listening to the consumer feedback.) They also improved some of the design details like a metal latch, and an outside storage for a water bottle. I recently purchased the 22L in TNF black\TNF black and I love the color. It has the original "gold" liner color on the inside which was a must for me, but honestly the 22L is still a bit small. I am using the pack for school and I am coming from a surge which is like a 33 liter backpack, so learning how to minimize my gear was definitely a challenge. Still, I am happy with my purchase and I use the ejector tabs all the time now. I have to give it up to The North Face; I pull the tabs expecting them to break, but the quality is very good and there are no signs of giving in the least! I think for what I need, the 28L would have been a more comfortable transition, but I just couldn't do it because of the yellow/lime highlight colored liner, and it's not so bad carrying less stuff lol. All in all, I'm definitely liking my pack. Can't wait to see what the future holds for the access pack.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good bag for city or office Good back but rather simple in the inside pockets. It is for minimalist use. A bit on the heavy side but you don't really feel it once it is on. It is very comfortable. I wish the chest strap was removable. Overall happy.
