Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible and Magical Bag of Holding I'm a college student and help with my church's tech team. I can honestly say that this backpack makes both a whole lot easier! I carry around electronics and school supplies such as a laptop, external hard drives, charger cables, textbooks, notebooks and many other things that I could name, but it would take too long... This backpack also locks, putting my mind at ease when leaving it in a different room. It's more comfortable than I thought it would be, the pack perfectly forms to your back. And lastly, it looks amazing. It's one of the most modern backpacks I've ever owned. So I'm conclusion, money well spent! Thanks NorthFace.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ver. 2.0 rocks! So I had the Access pack ver. 1 for about two weeks, I ignored the YouTube reviewers and thought it was a pretty cool bag. It fit most of my gear but not all of it. The major downside was that it didn't stand up. So you had to have it on a table top to get to all your stuff. Along comes Ver. 2.0 which is larger and now has a flat bottom to stand up. The 6 extra liters make the difference. The clasp is now metal so you don't have to worry about breaking it off. I can know pack my MacBook 15in, an ipad, a notebook, full size Dslr, mavic pro and a few pair of sunglasses. The perfect travel companion and work horse. Quality is great and the shell is bombproof. NF listened to the reviewers and improved on a great concept to create a great bag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quasimodo The new Access Pack is no longer the "turtle shell" it was in its previous iteration. While the overall pockets, design and interior features are excellent, the bag is still way too bulky and is annoying to yourself any anyone around you in confined spaces like a subway, hallway, stairs, etc. Also, the ability to stand upright on its own does not work well. This was a major complaint about the first version and while its much better, it still falls down the majority of time I propped it upright. In short, the new Access Pack has come a long way but it needs to shed some major bulk and perfect standing upright.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this bag but needs some changes I travel on the weekends for work and wanted a new backpack for the plane. This backpack is everything I wanted in a backpack. Its turtle shell design with a locking latch amazed me and I had to have it. I took it on a trip and it was great when I didn't have to much weight in it but once I added a little weight it became very uncomfortable on my shoulders. So much so that I had to unfortunately take it back. I still love this bag and would recommend it over and over again. It just needs a few adjustments for my personal use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome do-it all pack This is a really great pack; super versatile. I love the aluminum frame and the structure it provides; it stands up properly, it protects stuff inside, it looks great. Tons of space and storage for the types of things you need to carry all the time - iPad or laptop, chargers, pens, snacks, portfolio, etc. It has storage for nearly everything you want. I get comments on this everywhere I go. It's also extremely comfortable. It's really pricey but I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love at first sight, heartbreak when bought! I loved this backpack so much when I saw it fist time on the website and in some videos on YouTube. But when I bought it, it was kind of heartbreak. Here's why: - the bag looks awesome but lacks the functionality other TNF bags have. - it's so stiff and heavy that you feel like you are carrying some heavy load in it even when it has only a laptop in it - one serious issue for me is, it's so tight that you have wrestle with it in order to get stuff in and out. This is my major complaint and you will see it when you buy. I just don't feel like opening it and putting stuff in it or take anything out. It's just not as easy as getting something out of your bag. It's task when used everyday. - Last but not the least, it has extremely limited space. Because it's a stiff bag, like a suitcase, it's doesn't expand or contract in size. The biggest plus point is, the quality of material and the workmanship. It's outstanding in the way it's built. But sadly, not well designed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great bag, for a specific lifestyle This is the bag I've always wanted. It's a big bag but the storage and interior volume is smaller than would appear at first glance. This is what the bag seems to be designed for, minimalist packing. I'm a minimalist packer in my daily commute, for weekend-warrior events, for road-trips, and for domestic airline travel. I pack light and this bag keeps me honest in my minimalist lifestyle. The bag provides good compartmentalization so that you get more utility from every part of the bag. I like the bag so much that I've purchased two 22L versions (grey--for my daily commute and black w/the pattern--for my weekends, road-trips, and domestic flights) and this 28L version in black with the pattern for my international travel and longer trips. Being of minimalist persuasion, this 28L bag is the only bag I use for my international travel (this one bag, as a carry-on). I have packed 4 weeks worth of clothes, tech accessories, and my Surface Pro tablet and I still have free space for things I'll purchase while overseas. It's a carry-on sized bag and I've not yet had any airline issues with this bag being questioned about being a proper overhead bin-sized bag, as can sometimes happen when flying in some countries in Asia and Europe. I've used it in the overhead bins and also as an "under the seat in front of you" bag with no problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pack and convenient! I purchased this pack mainly for going to work and random outings. At first I checked out the 22L TNF Access, read tons of reviews and watched review videos. It looked cool, but it didn't stand up on its own and everyone complained about the size. I then saw the 28L TNF access. They fixed the main complaints and increased the size and now the pack stands upright. Once I saw the size and staying upright was fixed, I purchased online. Upon receiving the pack, I quickly became skeptical about how much it could carry. I decided to give it a try for a week or so. The pack grew on me. If I were still in college/school, this pack would not be the best for carrying multiple text books, a laptop, water bottle, snacks, clothing etc. In the back pocket I can easily fit my laptop (with thin case, but no need since the pack provides decent protection) and a text book/folders/magazines etc.. In the main pocket, the one with the auto-open top, much more can fit. The auto-open top is very convenient. No more having to unzip to get at your belongings. Just flick the latching clip up, and the bag opens quickly. This especially comes in handy while driving when you need something quickly, money for tolls, a water bottle etc. 2 or 3 good size text books could fit in here with room at the top for other smaller items. The random pockets fit whatever else, laptop charging cable, pens, sunglasses etc. The the pockets with pull tabs used to pull out contents, are great. The contents of these pockets are usually hidden underneath the top of the pocket, so the pull tabs are really convenient. Positives: - Durable shell (case-like) - 2 hidden pockets, come in handy - very convenient auto-opening main compartment - solid latching mechanism for main compartment - stands up right Cons: - side & inner pockets, when full, take up main compartment space - side pouch for water bottles, doesn't really work well. With a water bottle in it, more space is taken from main compartment.
