Rated 5 out of 5 by from Different from the pack I knew going in that I would be sacrificing some storage space with the front side's lack of pockets. I've always been a maximalist re: backpacks and opted for those with more pockets and the ability to expand. On a minimalist kick, I've slimmed down to carrying my essentials with this bag. It can comfortably fit my 15-in MBP along with my iPad and all of my respective chargers. It can also hold my lunchbox. Now, I don't miss having a thousand pockets as I'm more efficient with pulling out my belongings since there is only a finite amount of places where I store things. The straps are also very comfy and I like the ergonomic design for my back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from best casual backpack I've found pros -light weight and great carrying volume for casual use -minimal zippers (1 skinny laptop pocket, 1 stuffing pocket with pen slots and tablet sleeve, 1 small pocket for a shirt, and 1 side tall bottle stretchy and non-see thru sleeve) -straps are thin, non-scratchy, and kind of flexible -back support feels thick and stiff-foam cons -straps are still a bit too wide, and they're too solid that they don't stretch enough like the North Face Flyweight pack -laptop pocket zipper only a single and not double, so limited zipping pattern -bump on bottom of back support should be bigger to support those that like to have a "slacking walk"

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job getting me to work I really liked the idea of a small commuter back for getting me and the little bit of stuff I have to bring back and forth from work. The bag does a great job at that but I think the interior pockets are a little too tight to fit anything larger than a slim object in each one. For example a computer mouse barely fits and stretches the pockets a little further than it should. also once the gadget compartment is full with a power cable, mouse and couple other things it's very difficult to squeeze your computer in the back. It has really great potential but just needs like 5% more give. Overall tho I like it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love my bag! I needed something durable and small that i can take everywhere. This bag hit the nail on the head! I work for the fire department and in my job i am traveling, and out in the field a lot. I wanted something organized and functional enough for my office yet durable enough for some testing scenarios. This bag can do both, plus carry a lot of weight comfortably. One thing i would change would be the pocket amount, when you watch the video it is kind of an overall for all the bags and I thought certain features were available with this bag that werent. That being said, I would buy it again 100 more times without any regret. I cary this bag with me 6-7 days a week and i love it. Thank you North Face.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from UPDATED REVIEW (Even smaller than it seems) 9 months later Updating my review from 9 months ago. I had mentioned then that it was smaller than it seemed and I couldn't fit a pair of shoes and change of clothes when cycling to work. While that's still kinda true, I never returned this bag because I like it waaaay too much. Plus I got a slimmer laptop from work (so that helped) and I left a pair of shoes at work full time - problem solved. And honestly this might be my favorite daily carry bag I've ever owned. Its comfortable, its stable on your back, its tough, and its well organized. Another reviewer said "deceptively pocketless" which i couldn't agree with more. I personally hate the saggy looking bookbag-type backpacks, and this is definitely not that. Even when the main compartment is mostly empty, this bag holds its shape very well. Clean lines and rugged material. I've worn it with a suit. I've worn it sweating like a maniac taking the long way home on my bike. I've traveled with it personally. It fits well under the seat on any airplane. I like the zipper layout where its longer on one side than the other. The stretch water bottle pocket is tall and covers perfectly my 17oz swell bottle (again, clean lines). So many good things to say. Anyway I was here shopping for something else and forgot my earlier review mentioned I was going to return it, so I felt compelled to write an update. It still feels slightly smaller than 20L, but regardless its one of the best bags I've ever owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Backpack! In love with this backpack! At first, I was a bit nervous it did not had enough space for my needs (work and travel), but once I used it, it exceeded my expectations. I use it mainly to go to work and travel. Has enough room to carry your laptop, chargers, gadgets and you can also fit in some clothes like maybe a pair of shorts, tshirt and sweatshirt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A review after years of use I've had this backpack for a few years now. I had initially got this bag for traveling abroad. It worked great back then and I use it for school, work and gym. I work full time and then head to the gym or to school after work. It is a little small if you prefer to have multiple compartments and dividers but it works great for me because I arrange everything neatly when I pack my things. I usually fits two or three 1 inch binder, a toiletry bag, wallet, 1 liter bottle water my phone charger and also my stationaries. Sometimes I also fit my MacBook in there. One con is that I have to rearrange things again every time I take something out because it messes up the order of the things but it's not too big a problem for me. Another thing is that this bag only have one side pocket on the outside of the bag, I wish that there is one or two more so that I can have separate compartment for things that I need easy access to. Overall I love this bag.
