I know you’ve been there. Minding your own business, enjoying a nice, seemingly peaceful hike in the woods when suddenly the wind rips through the trees, chilling you to the bone and making you question your love for nature. The North Face Men's Apex Bionic 2 Hoodie aims to prevent such a travesty. Made with WindWall® fabric, a wind resistant fleece, it prevents cold gusts from sapping the warmth your body has made by staying active. For added protection, they’ve thrown on an adjustable hood as well as a hem cinch-cord to really seal out the drafts and seal in that sweet, sweet heat you’ve worked so hard for.

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellent
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

The North Face WindWall

The North Face WindWall
WindWall is a fleece fabric that retains the comfort, flexibility and breathability of traditional fleece while eliminating wind chill, which enhances warmth. The unique bonding process cuts 80 - 95% of wind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Rounded Jacket I have used the jacket camping, hiking, backpacking, travel trips, and just a daily casual jacket to work. The jacket has held up very well. Running through trees and from low crawling on the ground. Very easy to wash. I haven't had any problems with this. It's easy to roll up and toss in your bag on the go. Strap it on the outside or throw it in the back. The jacket is water resistant. You don't want to be wearing this if it's dumping. But light rain is cool, you'll be able to wipe the water right off. The wind wall on this is great! On those windy chills, it's amazing to have. It is a well rounded jacket and recommended to people that are more outdoors and travelers. But it is also a great everyday jacket as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Jacket I've Ever Had This jacket is hands down the best jacket I've ever worn. It's unparalleled temperature regulation makes it so my body stays at optimal temperatures (not too hot or too cold) no matter what the temperature gets to outside. The lining of the jacket contains a quality of fabric seemingly far too advanced for its time. Whenever I put on the jacket the water repellent properties and the 100% wind resistance makes me feel as though I am suddenly transported to a world in which undesirable weather conditions simply to not exist. While accomplishing such advanced technological feats the jacket still maintains an astonishing level of both style and comfort. I would definitely buy again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from decent Jacket is of expected quality from TNF. Fit is according to the size chart. Is definitely wind proof. Rode on my motorcycle in 50 degree weather on the highway and felt no wind. Not as warm as I was hoping but maybe with a fleece layer it will work this winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally bought a new one I bought an Apex coat like 12 years ago, when I was in high school and hadn't needed a new one until now. The original Apex I bought seems indestructible and I've used it for everything in all weathers (free climbing, paintball, hiking, tree climbing, sledding, jogging, parkour) I can't find a newer one that compares to the original so hopefully this one performs just as well - I will say the only problem I've had is that both don't seem to breath very well when it's around 50°f+ but that's just because I get hot from moving around in that temp

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice coat I find myself in between an XL and XXL in most clothes. North face has always been true to size. This coat is warm on cold days with a sweatshirt underneath and perfect on the not so cold days with just a t-shirt underneath

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stop Scrolling And Buy This NOW! This is my first NORTH FACE jacket, I have never owned one before and I always wanted one. So it was hard to really pick out of all the jackets that would be my FIRST ONE. Im not really a fan of fleece because i hate how it doesn't keep you dry and it doesn't block the wind. I then looked at the real expensive ones but I live in NOR CAL where it barely rains hard, and it doesn't snow, so I didnt need the big ones. So i decided to go SOFT SHELL. And this is by the far hands down the BEST JACKET! I love it so much, Im literally going to wear it EVERYDAY! If you live in a area that doesnt rain that much and never snows, but it can be pretty windy then SOFT SHELL is where you wanna go. Not only does it keep you warm from the wind and rain but its also very stylish and feels great! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!! STOP READING THIS REVIEW AND BUY IT NOW!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Jacket I (and you) Have Been Waiting For! The first North Face jacket I have ever purchase did not disappoint! We had 3 days of 40+mph 50 degree winds just after I got the jacket. And true to it's claim, NOTHING cut through the Bionic Jacket. Pretty incredible! I ordered this version and the Bionic Hoodie, but opted to stay with the jacket version. Made more sense for the uses I needed for it. I am almost between a Medium and Large, and opted for the M, as the large had too much room/arms too long. Wish it was about an inch longer, but that's due to body type, not jacket construction. A+ product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE LOVE LOVE I bought this for my boyfriend for his birthday a couple weeks ago and you will be lucky to see him out of it now! He took it on his fishing trip to Maine this week and is so happy with it! I couldn't ask for anything more. It's the perfect material. Warm on the inside, while slightly waterproof,
