Rated 2 out of 5 by from Twill Fabric Pills Immediately From Velcro Closure I loved everything about the Biggie McCurdo - it's the perfect parka. Fits great, looks great, holds up to all fall/winter weather (wind, wet, cold) and it's super warm BUT the open fibre twill fabric is just not made to last. After a week of wearing the jacket, the inside of my sleeves just above my wrist and forearm started to pill - likely due to the velcro strips along the front zipper. This was a huge let down because I planned to wear the jacket for the next several years. Knowing that the pilling would only worsen more and more after only a weeks wear I had to exchange it for an entirely different style - the Outer Borroughs. I highly suggest TNF rework the Biggie McCurdo in a different outer fabrication because it's really one of the best winter parkas they offer in terms of style and functionality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Coat Color Totally off don't believe TNF Black I was so disappointed after waiting 4 days for this! I work in Boston so I really needed this jacket. so when I rushed home to go open the box and saw the color. It was like a green with a little black at the top so disappointing. I really wanted black now I have to return the whole thing and look for another jacket after getting a great cyber Monday deal on this jacket. I repeat TNF Black isn't black or whatever picture they display on the website The jacket. overall should be fine but the color just ruined it for my mood. I really needed a jacket immediately you know how cold it is outside these days! smh Just look at the pictures then you'll understand how off they sold me

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overwhelmingly good parka with few flaws I bought this parka to double as a stylish urban piece and a lifesaver in the dead of winter. I wear this coat in the city, where temps and windchill often drop to single digits. I also wear it when I know i'm going to be outside for long periods of time. The coat is amazingly warm. I do have issues layering, but a flannel underneath is about all you'll need. The arms are a hair short and it takes a little time to get used to the bulk. Only other issue is that the hood doesn't always stay in place, unless I'm wearing a hat or have the face guard pulled down. I love this parka and am v pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would deffinitly buy this item again, it warm, looks great I haven't washed it yet, But this the second coat of that's in the McMurdo Parka line by Noth Face I have purchased. I find the product worth every dime of my money and trust the company to stand by it's product. This item is also very easy to care for washes in cold water, dries well with minimal heat. for the price I feel this was a perfect buy. This is my second buy from North Face and I am satisfied to no end thus far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Warm. This coat is super warm. I read a few negative reviews about the black color being off but I honestly like it. It does not even look black on the website so I was fine with the gray, but it is in fact more of a dark green, but at the end of the day if you are in a place where you need a coat like this, who cares. The coat is awesome. I was originally looking at the McMurdo Parka III but they were out of my size. After looking at this coat more I realized it was longer and now I am glad I went with this. The only downside is that the built in buff makes it hard to keep the hood super snug, but the fact it has that built in is pretty sweet. This coat came just in time as I was heading to Detroit and they were getting a blizzard that weekend. Kept me super warm and dry. The temps were in single digits and there was a hypothermia warning. I was in a t-shirt underneath and was perfectly fine. I highly recommend this coat. Kept me plenty warm during the Polar Vortex as well. A true testament to this coat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the coat! Have not had a chance to use it yet, but it seems like it will be a great winter coat. Like the durable fabric. Not sure about the draw cords for the hood--easy enough to tighten, but difficult to loosen. Maybe just have to figure it out. Also seems a little tight throught the shoulders relative to the body. I'm 6'-0" 210 lbs, non-athletic, and I bought an XL. Fits fine with normal shirt underneath, but layering with multiple layers fits a little tighter through the shoulders than I like, but it still works. Does not have elastic wrist cuffs, which would be nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Valuable investment A bit expensive, but it's worth it, very good quality and keeps you very warm. I usually wear medium but had a perfect fit with the small with this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Definitely a good choice General use of the product I will say it is a good choice for daily use, can stand extreme cold weather.
