The North Face FUTURELIGHT technology

The North Face FUTURELIGHT
The North Face FUTURELIGHT fabric technology features an ultra-thin nanomembrane for outerwear made with 90% recycled materials. The breathable-waterproof technology keeps you comfortable by allowing your body to breathe, prevents water and snow from soaking in and remains light, soft and durable. Ready to go on the trail, rock and crag for weather protection on your desired adventure.

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellent
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Product Reviews
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Only if at 50% off As mentioned in the first review, the elastic waist is not sufficient to keep the back of the pants from coming down. I had a tailor add belt loops (extra $30). Now they are perfect! Nice light material and zippers easy to adjust for venting. The double snaps at the bottom are great for cinching. I got these pants at just over a hundred CDN, I would definitely not pay the regular price. I like outdoor clothing/footwear and try lots of different brands but keep generally prefer TNF.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice pants but weird fit Futurelight is a fantastic technology and these pants come really close to being keepers. First, the good. Futurelight is comfortable, breathable and quiet when walking. It is easy to forget you have rain pants on when wearing the Dryzzles, not the case with my Marmot PreCips, which are not as comfortable or breathable and make a crinkling noise when walking. I also really appreciate that TNF offers them in short lengths. Unfortunately, there is also not-so-good. Unlike the PreCips, there are no side pockets. And, unlike the PreCips, these pants don't fully unzip all the way from top to bottom though they come close enough to a full zip that getting them on and off without removing your shoes seems completely feasible, particularly in combination with the front zipper. So far, the positives of these pants easily outweigh the negatives. Unfortunately, there is one more negative and it is a deal killer: lifting my knees as though I am taking a big step up pulls the back of the pants down. This is not true of any of my other pants including the PreCips. It is a shame. For me, it ruins an otherwise excellent pair of pants.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost Great...Needs a Belt [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Giving four stars because I haven't actually used them in the rain yet, but I have a lot of North Face gear so I'm certain they will be as waterproof as they say. I'm not giving five stars because like many other reviewers have said, I wish they had belt loops because they do seem as though they will sag down as worn. For $189 I would really like to see a belt system like you put in the $70 Paramount pants (which I have several pair of...my Go To pants). That belt system is great and you can cinch the pants tight. So anyway, like the look and feel and I'm sure they perform as advertised, but I want a belt.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tough rain pants [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really good rain pants, I've been building trail for a season in them and they work great, my only issue is the back of the pants sag a bit..they need belt loops! 4 Stars!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Rain Paints I've ever owned [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have bought many items directly from The North Face and have never had an issue. Order arrived on time and were exactly what I expected. I thought initially that maybe they were too small but they actually are just a great fit. I wore them hiking on the coast for 30+ miles in wet conditions and never had an issue. I could wear these all day long everyday. They are GREAT rain pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best rain pant ever I have had these pants for 2 weeks, I have hiked 12 fast miles multiple times in heavy rain and my hiking pants underneath were bone dry at the end of the hike, I have never experienced that, my goretex twin pant would always build condensation, super quiet and comfortable, love the full length zippers, great product

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Waterproof, light, versatile [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall great rain pant, the waistband could use some revision-- walk around with them too long and the back starts to sag a bit especially when taking big steps.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light, not noisy, breathable, sag in the back [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sag in the back if you're going to be very active lifting your legs high through rough terrain, the elastic is a bit loose-- other than that, great pants
