The North Face Men's Freedom Pant is a weatherproof pant for snowsports. Ski weekends, snowboard nights and even backyard fort building if you've graduated to dad status. They're waterproof, breathable but definitely not insulated, so make sure you throw on a base layer before you pull these on over top. They keep the snow, rain, slush and wind out, with the help of StretchVent gaiters with gripper elastic down at the cuffs. Utilize the belt loops if you're a bit on the thin side, or the adjustable waist tabs may just be enough to dial in the fit. Either way you're ready to rip down the mountain.

The North Face DryVent

The North Face DryVent
Dryvent™ fabrics are engineered to be fully waterproof, windproof and breathable. The outer face of the textile is treated with a durable water repellant finish that helps form droplets and repel water from the surface. Each multi layered textile is engineered to allow water vapor to pass through from the inside to the outside.

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellent
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A lot of pant for the money [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used these pretty hard. As an instructor during this funky nw winter, I've been out in rain, big wind and puking snow. Also with liftie labor shortages during this funky winter, I help break down the mountain one night a week. This entails taking down and rolling up literally a couple hundred yards of fence and hauling to the nearest lift shack. Another reviewer mentioned the fleece-lined pocket as being problematic-I concur as it can get pretty wet in the pocket. I find the fabric to lean more toward waterproof than breathable than comparable 2-layer proprietary fabrics from the competition that starts with a P. Overall, for the money, great pants.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor design [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use these pants for skiing, snow shoveling and in the summer to stay dry in rainy weather. The length selections are only short, regular and long. I purchased the short length given the sizing guide instructions. When I received them I tried them on and found that I had to hem them to keep them from dragging on the ground. There are only three belt loops instead of five, so that they do not stay in place at the waist. They have added velcro adjustments on the sides and a velcro patch where the front snap is. The velcro scratches the skin badly. They have used recycled material which I can do myself if I shop for clothes at a used clothing store. If I had not hemmed them before using them, I would have returned them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid ski pants, but missing a few features. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased these ski pants for a big ski trip out west this week. The pants are well made, warm, and have most of the necessary features you'd expect from ski pants. The reason for the 4 stars (vs. 5) are that there are a few minor things off about them. Primarily, the pants are a bit too long - I'm almost 5'11' and when I take off my ski boots to walk in my sneakers, the lining would drag on the ground. Also, there's no zipper on the boot linings or pants so it's just a simple pull over to cover the boot whereas my old ski pants had a nice zipper and button closure on the boot lining and pants which made it much easier to mange. Lastly, there's only 1 smaller cargo pocket besides the hip pockets which is somewhat limiting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have and would continue to buy this product again! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this pant to as a ski patroler in IOWA - Yes, IOWA. The fabric has to be tough, windproof, and waterproof to survive the brutal Mount Crescent peak where temperatures in January can range from -20 below zero to upwards of 50 degrees. A whole new meaning arises in Iowa when one speaks of skiing "corn." The North Face Freedom Pant has what it takes to get any skier at any expertise to the next level of experience whatever the conditions may bring!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Found a hole on the 4th time wearing the snow pants [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband was gifted with this pair of pants for Christmas and it kept him real warm and dry in the freezing Bismarck weather so I ended up buying the same exact one for my brother. We all went to ski last week, and both my husband and my brother brought the pants with them. Unfortunately, we found a hole in my husband's pants on the second day of skiing and it was a shame because it's only the fourth time he wore it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Snow Pants for skiing / snow fun [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These pants are awesome! I am a new skiier and I took them skiing which involves a lot of time on the ground and they stayed completely waterproof and totally warm. The temperature was in the high 20's to low 30's and I was never cold even sitting on the lifts. I would highly recommend! In terms of sizing, they were pretty true to size. I am 5'9" and wear a 31x31 in pants typically and the medium regulars were perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These fit great, are flexible, plenty of pockets, and seem very waterproof. Wore them skiing yesterday, was warm and dry. Run large, I got one size smaller than normal so they were more fitted and less baggy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought these to replace an old pair of ski pants that were at the end of their useful life. Bought a size medium and have been happy with the fit (I'm 5'11 and 160lbs) and finish. Pockets where I need them and adjustable waist. Stayed dry and comfortable during a couple of days of NC skiing.
