Product Reviews
Rated 4 out of 5 by from . The biggest difference between these and the old motion pants is the change in fabric. These are 98% cotton, 2% elastane. The old ones were 86% cotton, 14% sorona. This new pant feels more like a typical khaki, the other one feels much less structured and soft. I can't say for you, if that is a good or bad thing. Fortunately, the fit is virtually the same. I am wearing the same size I had ordered before. There are a fair amount of small changes throughout the pant, and the only other significant change is how the legs are constructed. The old ones had an additional piece of fabric in the legs, which you can see from my picture. That's my initial impression. We will have to see how these pan out.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cell phone marked front pocket after one use [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the dark gray. I really like the fit and look of these pants, so I wanted to like them overall. I usually keep my cellphone in my front right pocket, and unfortunately after one wear I developed a faded stretch mark from where my phone had been in the pocket. This won't come out and is a permanent mark. I still wear the pants but have to keep my phone in my back pocket and am constantly reminded of the defect in the dye when I look down at my pants. Kinda lame to have to worry about the fabric integrity on an "outdoorsy" pair like this. I wouldn't buy these again and would recommend if you do that you don't keep anything in the front pockets!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Quality Dropped off a Cliff [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Previous version were fantastic, ordered again to receive a completely different pant. Below average cloth material and cheap hardware, total disappointment.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor FIT: A SUPER DISAPPOINTING CHANGE from Previous Version [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As other reviewers have said, these pants are a real disappointment. The North Face went from a unique, stylish, dressed up jean pocket pant with really interesting fabric to a redesign that put these pants in the trash bin with every other tacky khaki chino that a person every owned. Here's the real disappointment: these new pants FIT terribly around the hips, being too baggy, and the new fabric is too heavy as well. They went to a slash pocket on the redesigned pants -- which I guess is supposed to make them palatable for work? -- but they don't look or fit as SHARPLY as the previous version. MY BIG BUMMER: I bought 4 pair guessing that these would fit like the last version! I'm going to have to give them away! North Face: Turn Back! Turn Back!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what I hoped [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a couple pairs of these that I have worn for work and for recreation - hiking and biking and such. The first pair was great - look respectable and comfortable for an active lifestyle, but I have become really disappointed in them since I bought them under a year ago. That first pair has already worn out - (holes in crotch, pockets, tearing at seams) - the second pair fit way differently even though it was the same size - and I haven't been able to get a pair that matches the fit of the first since. Sizes are wildly inconsistent. Now that I am realizing the durability is lackluster, I've got to find something else. Too bad.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Totally Different from Previous Version [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Completely changed the fit. Old version were like stylish but comfortable 5pocket jeans. These are more like baggy Chinos. OK if that's what you want.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Vastly inferior to 2017 version [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 2017 version was hands down my favorite pair of pants, but TNF changed the fabric, downgraded the hardware, changed the reflective ankle tape giving it a worse profile/visibility, and it seems like they may have tweaked the cut of the pants, but I haven't measured. Point being, the changes were for the worse, and I recommend avoiding the new version in favor of picking up the 2017 version from a reseller if you can find them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Change the pants back to original [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The original version were the best pants ever. The new version is a step down. Please go back. I'll buy 5 pairs.
