Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this jacket about 6 weeks ago in Chicago. I’ve worn it around 10 times since that time, spending prolong periods of time outdoor because - well Covid. The jacket is as advertised - very warm, comfortable and lighter in weight then other serious winter jackets I’ve owned. It laughs and rain and snow and with a knit hat and the jacket hood on - it’s delightfully warm. One minor complaint - with the zipper all the way up to your chin, the weight of the hood pulls the zipper towards you neck - which can be uncomfortable - but if you unzip just a couple inches - the problem is resolved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This coat beats the winter cold I live on the edge of town so all winter we get strong winds to go along with our northern plains cold. Most coats can keep up with the cold for a while but lose when the temperature really plummets, especially when the wind picks up. So far this one has beaten back the winter cold no matter how cold or windy it gets. The hood does an excellent job of keeping the wind out of your face, the shell is thoroughly wind proof, and the lining is super warm and keeps me comfortable through the worst of it. Plus the magnetic snaps are just cool.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from My thoughts First off, this jacket is a lot puffier than it looks in the photo. I'm 6'0'', 195lbs and the Large size is a little too big -- the shoulders are good, but body length is too long. I did use the size guide and I normally wear size L from The North Face. The main reason for my rating is a manufacturing error with the sleeves. The sleeve cuff on the right sleeve is sewn on the inside whereas the cuff on left arm is sewn on the outside, causing the section with the down to slip out - see the pictures. I also don't like how much the hood puffs out when its laying on my back too (once again, more than pictures). Overall, I think this has fantastic potential for a heavy winter coat, but it's just not quite there.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Flimsy fabric This jacket looks really nice and is really warm even in cold winter, and the magnetic stormflap is a nice touch. But the first thing I noticed wrong was the zipper, which I had read in the comments that was too weak, and from the beginning I saw that it was true. It would be hard to zip it, and it would open from the bottom, which is not really nice when is 10ºF outside, but I could live with this. What made me return the jacket is that after just two weeks of normal use, the fabric at the back started to fall apart just from the friction with my study backpack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would recommend Very stylish and high quality material. It's very light for its size and very very warm. Lots of pockets and adjustable hood. Fur is detachable and when zipped up all the way it covers your mouth for extra warmth. Was debating on purchasing a jacket that was $1000+ from a different brand but glad I choose this one. I saved over $500. The only thing is that this jacket is pricy. But this is a high quality winter jacket you get what you pay for. If you want a jacket that is very stylish, high quality, waterproof and that keep you warm even in extreme conditions this is for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from North Face has done it again! First off, I'd like to say that if you're looking for "the" stylish winter jacket for men, look no further. I want to give a shout out to Drew at the North Face Chicago team on 875 N Michigan Ave! Thanks for making shopping for myself so much easier, and being so knowledgeable with all of the North Face products. Secondly, not only is this jacket warm, has the amazing Gore-Tex II technology, it is also very stylish. Yes, the jacket runs a bit bigger, I'm 6'0, 195lbs, medium-build and even with a hoodie I had to go down a size (I also like my coats slightly fitted). As a student-athlete, not only is the jacket in the mid-range of affordability, it definitely lives up to the North Face reputation for GREAT winter wear standards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish, Well-designed Winter Coat I say that it feels large and the sleeves are long only because I normally wear an XL and after reading others' comments, I went with the Large, which fits very nicely. The jacket has quality construction and feels very comfortable. The hood is insulated and the fur keeps wind on your face to a minimum, and fits my big head comfortably with great visibility. The length in the back is ideal for sitting on a cold metal bench to watch football while keeping your buns toasty. The jacket keeps you warm and dry, and is quite stylish. The zippers are high quality and easy to grasp with gloves on. Pockets are nice and deep. The magnetic closures on the flap are a nice touch, as well. Overall, a great winter coat! Glad I finally tried out TNF!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I definitely would buy this jacket again Use in cold weather. Very warm, and physically comfortable. I'm 5'10" 190 pounds. 'Large' size jacket fits well with room for a sweatshirt of even sweater under jacket. Easy movement and large extended hood keeps my head and body dry and warm. Large zipper teeth, easy to zip up or down. Front zipper-cover-flap apparently uses magnets to hold flap in place. Very clever. Exterior appears more to be more of a 'twill-like fabric' than the traditional smooth surface of most down jackets -- a nice feature. This is a great jacket. Says who? I have been buying North Face Jackets for 45 years.
