DWR tech

Durable Water Repellent
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

The North Face DryVent

The North Face DryVent
Dryvent™ fabrics are engineered to be fully waterproof, windproof and breathable. The outer face of the textile is treated with a durable water repellant finish that helps form droplets and repel water from the surface. Each multi layered textile is engineered to allow water vapor to pass through from the inside to the outside.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this Jacket I bought this jacket last week when it was 55 degrees in Boston. I'm gearing up for the cold elements of the Northeast weather. After about 3 days of wearing this jacket in 20 degree weather I am in love !!! I'm an XL in all North Face Jackets I have bought in the past; I am 6'1" 230 lbs. I went a size up and it seems to be a good choice. I wanted the ability to wear layers underneath in case of the sub-freezing temperatures. The only cons I have about the jacket are some loose feathers in the sleeves. On a few occasions when taking the jacket off I noticed little feathers on my sweaters/shirts sleeves. Also the faux fur on the hood, the attachment is a little sensitive and easy to detach if you are not careful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very warm and relatively affordable I moved to a cold midwestern state for school from a warm eastern state. Is perfect for keeping me warm when I am walking downtown, walking to class, cleaning my car, etc. I'd compare the warmth of this parka to other brands like Canada Goose but it comes at less than half the price. Also, is pretty stylish. Overall, I'd recommend. The only issue is that a M is a bit too small but a L is a bit too big but that is more an issue with my body type as most jackets run that way on me. For most people, I'd say it fits true to size

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good price, good fit, I would buy this again I just bought this parka. It's August, so can't comment on the performance of the coat, as of yet. I will say that so far the fit has been surprising. I'm 6'1" 170 lbs, with a 32" waist and after trying on many coats at the North Face store, I decided to order a small, since I don't like a lot of excess room in my coats. This fits me perfectly. I also, like the fact that it's affordable, in my opinion. I look forward to updating my review after cold weather set in.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great coat for cold Midwestern winters This is a stylish parka with minimal frills. It's warm and fits nicely. The only complaint I have is the fur on the hood attaches with snaps, which leaves an air gap for wind to come through. It'd be great if the hood was longer, or if the fur could use a zipper attachment instead. Other than this minor issue, this is a great coat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST PARKA EVER This was a parka that I had wanted to get ever since I saw North Face place it on their website. But because of the price I was always hesitant to do so. I'm very happy to have gone through with it and get it. I'm 6'0 and weigh 200Ibs. Great fit, not too big and not too small I got a large

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Outer Boroughs Parka is the best I've bought North Face coats for family members - love the durability and warmth. The outer borough 550 is cut small - I changed coat to an XL for a person that generally wears a M/L. He loves the coat and says it's warm. I wish you would bring back the 900 that I purchased several years ago for my nephew.
