The North Face Men's Paramount Active Convertible Pant is a slim fit pant and short combination for the trails. Start the hike early in the chilly morning with pants and as the day warms up, zip off the legs during lunchtime. The shorts give your legs the breeze they need when the heat is blazing. Once camp has been made and the bugs start to appear, turn them back into pants for a bit of campfire time. Versatile and stretchy, they can change quickly to make the whole weekend of weather changes worthwhile.

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellent
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

The North Face FlashDry

The North Face FlashDry
FlashDry enables the user to stay drier and more comfortable in a wide range of weather conditions and environments. It doesn't add weight or bulk and never washes or wears out. FlashDry will accelerate evaporation so you can dry off quicker.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Changed for the worse [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] They used to make the perfect pants Paramount convertibles, but then they removed the side pockets and the left rear pocket and the side zip within the right pant pocket, and now it's not even a consideration anymore. I've owned 7 pairs of the old ones, classic if it ain't broke don't fix it...they fixed it alright. Now I have to look elsewhere

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent pair but the previous models were better I can't give this pair of pants a five star as previous models were better. Pros - pants are comfortable, light weight, true to size and fitting at the ankle area. Great when hiking and outdoor stuff. Cons - Reason I would not purchase is the pockets. The pockets are limited not deep at all and the side pockets when you sit down things fall out. There is a zipper pocket on the right hip area but it is not deep like previous models. I feel Northface scaled back on this pair of pants which in return took away valuable pocket space

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why change whats not broken [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been wearing the Paramount Convertible Pants for around 20 years. Over time they made some improvements but should not have messed with the deep pockets. Now I can't even get a product due to your unnecessary changes. Go back to the product you had 10 years ago it was much better

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A must have for active people [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love these pants. I use them all the time from going out and grabbing drinks to going to the gym and working out. I can go on a hike and go to a bar without ever changing and I do not feel underdressed. I've worn these out to bars in downtown Chicago and then worn them Camping in WI. If you have an active lifestyle or even want comfortable pants to workout in I would recommend these. To be honest I have never zipped them off but with the lightweight material I have not needed to. They breathe so well and do not hold an smell if you sweat in them. Water rolls right off them so getting them wet is not an issue. I bought 3 pair and I'll probably buy more

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I will not by this product again. I have been wearing the north face convertible pants for years. They have been getting worse as the years have gone on. If I can find another brand that does what your older one's offered I will be through with the North Face Brand. Really cheap put together pants competitors are now easily competing in quality with North Face. Your pictures online leave a lot to be desired to see details.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like these! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased these for the multi functional aspect. I've hiked in these pants a few times and have loved how light, comfortable, breathable and sturdy they are. They have a little bit of a stretch to them and the waist band also has elastic in the back which for some, maybe comfortable. In addition, the over all look is pretty simple and the fit is straight so I can see myself wearing them outside of hiking. Definitely, looking at getting another pair.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Please bring back Trail version with cargo pockets I have had the trail version of the Paramount convertiple with all the cargo pockets. I have multiple pairs and wear them exclusively. Unfortunately you no longer have those, so mine keep going to the tailors for repairs because I cannot buy new ones, and nothing else available is comparable!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great pants, a few recommendations [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are nice, comfortable zip-off pants. They replace ten year old North Face zip-offs that finally wore out. What I like best: the soft, water-resistant material, the drawstring and waist button (no plastic belt to rattle around in the washing machine,) and the overall fit. What I'd change: although these aren't "skinny" pants, the legs are less roomy than I'm used to, the zipper pocket is smaller and lower than I'd like, I'd prefer zippers at the ankles to allow the legs to be put on or taken off without having to take off boots/shoes, and I would have liked the option to buy a 35" waist-the 34" didn't allow enough room for wool shirts to be tucked in and the 36" is a bit too roomy. All in all I'd definitely buy these again.
