Durable Water Repellent
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.
The North Face FlashDry
FlashDry enables the user to stay drier and more comfortable in a wide range of weather conditions and environments. It doesn't add weight or bulk and never washes or wears out. FlashDry will accelerate evaporation so you can dry off quicker.

Definitely try TNF pants on before the purchase...[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Solid pants but given the wider range of fittings with TNF, definitely try them on in the store first. Lot of volume with these pair of pants and the lower legs didn't taper off as much as I expected. The materials are not as high quality as previous versions and felt much more lightweight than I expected - not sure how far I could push these with the outdoor activities. Ended up returning them given the fitting but at least an opportunity to check out other pants at TNF store...

Comfortable, but quality has declined[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased these trousers, hoping that they would be the same quality as about 5 years ago. Back then, I was very impressed with the strength and durability of this product. When I received them, it took 2 seconds to see that the material is about half as thick as the ones I previously bought. They are great to hike in and versatile if the weather changes. But, I feel I need to be very careful not to rip holes in these trousers while my wife and I are hiking and camping. 3 stars is as high as I can go for these.

You should buy only if you like skinny jeans.[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wish I could give zero stars. I bought these, along with 2 pairs of the Paramount Trail Convertible pants. Both are just AWFUL. I owned prior versions of North Face pants in this similar style and they were the best pants on the market. I could literally go fishing, hiking, boating, etc. all day long in my old pants and then walk right into a restaurant and not feel out of place. Unfortunately, my old pants are barely serviceable at this point because I have worn them out. With these new pants, you simply cannot do anything active...they are too tight to allow you to move. They are essentially skinny jeans made from nylon material. Also, North Face has made some obvious cost-savings changes compared to the old Paramount convertible pants. The material is noticeably skimpier. The old embroidered emblems are gone in favor of glued/iron-on/sticker emblems. Pockets are too small to hold anything but maybe a car key and a money clip. Don't waste your time or money on these. Terrible product for anyone who was familiar with the old Paramount pant product line.

Awesome pants for climbing![This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What an awesome pair of pants for climbing. I am using it for bouldering and lead climbing. Their flexibility is superb and it allows me to split, flag, and much more with these pants. Definitiely recommended!

Not what I was looking for.[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Material was lighter than I was looking for, so they may work for others. Also, not very fitted especially at the cuffs which is what I prefer.

The Most Ideal Pair of Pants!![This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the second pair that I own and I'll surely buy another pair. They're great for almost any outdoor activity and the material keeps your temperature regulated. The zipper at the knees is amazing for removing a layer without actually having to remove a layer of clothing! Definitely buy!!

Best rock climbing shorts/pants[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Awesome convertible pants. They fit to my size and they are pretty rugged and elastic for my indoors and outdoors rock climbing adventures. My feet can freely move while climbing. And they can be used for both Summer and Winter since they are convertible. Yay!
