Product Reviews
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pilling Issue [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Like the design, but got some quality issue, The jacket pilling like crazy. I have only been using this jacket as a middle layer during skiing. And only used for less than 20 days. The warranty department refuses to repair it and claims its normal wear and tear. I've talked to some other friends who had a similar jacket, and one of them has a Patagonia jacket, he has been wearing that for over 7 years and has no pilling issue at all. Very disappointed with the so-called lifetime warranty. I was a big fan of the TNF products. Not anymore.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Logo coming off in less than a month [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this jacket at The North Face shop last month. The "T" on the logo have rubbed off (and the "H" is starting to). We tried exchanging it for a new one (as it was less than a month old). They told us that we'd have to send it back to TNF to be repaired under warranty. And we'd have to pay to have it shipped. Could take 6 weeks to get back. Not very convenient. This is a high end jacket but it looks like we got it on canal street in NYC. Other than that, it's warm and comfortable. Just looks like a knockoff now. Going to call American Express to get our money back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Design Change [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the first issue of Thermoball jacket several years ago. The zipper brand was YKK, a stalwart and sturdy zipper of good quality. The quilting was much more tightly spaced and contoured. The new version is just a larger square quilting, 2.5"x 2.5", with no special detailing while the zipper is smaller and cheaper looking. I would rather pay more for the same original quality than this current version which seems like a knock-off. But hopefully it still serves the same insulation purpose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket - would buy again [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased the ThermoBall as a specific mid-layer for skiing: insulating, windproof, with draw-string and elastic hems. Turned out I don't need a hard-shell over this at all. I've now skied at both Tahoe and Park City wearing just this jacket and it's performed great! Lightweight, warm, and super-visible on the mountain. Ski buddies always know where and who I am - which makes grouping up in a crowded lift-line far easier. Jacket replaced a mountain hardware Ghost Whisperer and I'm very happy with the warmth from the synthetic insulation. Also, love the lack of visible branding - the design's exactly what I want. Big fan of this jacket.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Runs small [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The waist on this jacket is unreasonably small. The shoulders are also tight so it feels quite restricted when the jacket is fully zipped up. The jacket does hold up very well in single digit temps. Either size up or try it on in person before you consider buying online. I'm a consistent Medium across my jackets and this one feels small and tight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Magic Jacket [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this jacket for my husband after owning a similar jacket for myself. It's truly magical as it keeps you warm on all but the coldest days, yet you never feel too hot when the weather warms. It's light weight and free of down for those who may be allergic to feathers. And, it packs easily as it squishes down but does not appear flattened or wrinkled when you put it on. What's more is that one looks slim and stylish as it is not too puffy. This particular color is beautiful-it's bright and cheerful without being garish. We love our magic jackets!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love it, I am male, 5'9 150 lbs, wearing a size small. I'm often a small-medium depending on the top. i'm a dense, skinny lean muscle type of person. Lots of clothing tends to fit big on me, slim fit is amazing and I feel like this jacket immediately fit me and has kept it's form and function this last year with almost everyday use. It's a very form fitting jacket. it's not bulky but remains warm. I noticed other reviews saying the slim fit is too small, but if you are on the skinny side, this jacket fits beautifully. there is just enough room for a mid layer as well.
