DWR tech

Durable Water Repellent
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

The North Face Thermoball

The North Face Thermoball
Thermoball utilizes PrimaLoft synthetic fiber clusters to closely mimic down clusters. This offers the heat retaining power of down, but with the added durability and versatility of synthetic insulation. It'll keep you toasty warm, even in wet-weather conditions.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice jacket but.. This is a nice jacket, and my first try at synthetic insulation. My main jacket is a pategonia down hoodie. I got this jacket bc it has double the insulation of a normal thermoball and I wanted something for super cold days. So far, this jacket is equal to my pategonia in warmth but twice the weight and much more bulky. So a disappointment there. The cost is also 60$ more than a regular thermoball(which I've never worn). Also, I'm 5'10 with a 37 inch chest, and I always fit into the small sizes of most brands, but this jacket was just barely too big on me. Which you don't want for a winter jacket that relies on airspace and loft to keep you warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Surprise It's a thermoball on steroids. Love the weight and the fit. It is not stowable but that does not matter to me. Hem adjustment in pockets. I obviously haven't worn it in colder temps yet, but is definitely warmer than my standard thermoball jacket that I've worn for years. I like the fit and feel of it better than the Cerium LT. Only compliant the logo is not stitched in, it's like a iron on kinda cheap looking. I have no idea why they would cut corners on a jacket where the haven't in all the other places.. I'm 5' 9 155 lbs and the medium fit me well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty Amazing Jacket!! So I will be there first person to write a review on this jacket. I recently purchased the Thermo ball Hooded Jacket. I found this one, which had more insulation. I really like it. It is very comfortable, and the thicker squares stands out from all other types of down and synthetic jackets. I believe its going to be warm. It feels more loftier then the 800 fill Morph Jacket I also tried. It has not been cold enough to wear yet. So I'm giving this a review based on it just coming to the market. Hem cords are in the pocket, which I like a lot. Not stowable, but I don't care about that. I have a feeling its gonna keep you warm into the single digits. I wore a thick wool jacket for many years in single digits, and I can tell this will definitely do it. And its much lighter. I'll be giving another review when I test it in very cold weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even Better Thermoball! I bought this because I just moved to New York and my old thermoball (which was perfect for Southern California) wasn't warm enough. I prefer to wear just a t-shirt under my jackets and the ThermoBall Super Hoodie is perfect for this. So far, it has kept me warm down to 20 degree weather with no issues. It is bulkier and a little stiffer than the standard thermoball but I got use to it quickly and now is my daily casual jacket during the winter. Thermoballs are the best jackets out there and the Super Hoodie is an awesome addition to handle even colder weather! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WARMER THEN MY BIG PARKA. Much warmer then anything else I've tried in a long time. Fits amazing and looks are killer. So happy with the choice. Super durable as well. I'm not nice to my jackets and this holds up amazing. It's a must buy for the winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm! Just what I wanted. Love this jacket! I have a two lighter North Face jackets (including the regular ThermoBall) that I used in California. After moving to Colorado, I felt I needed something a bit warmer for those super cold morning dog walks etc. I ran across this jacket and while there weren't that many reviews, I decided to go for it. I also really liked the red! This jacket is warm! I was outside at 20-25 degrees with a T-shirt under and I was cozy! If the sun is out and hitting it too it feels really warm and nice. The hoodie is an extra bonus. I put it over my head directly or over a beanie. Really really happy with this jacket. Highly recommend! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and stylish Loved the warmth the jacket provided without sacrificing style. The thermoball is unique among jackets in my opinion as you get the warmth of a big coat without sacrificing the style and staying slim instead of the bulky coats that I associate with being as warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, Lightweight, Comfortable I wear this for everyday use in MN. It is warm with just a dri-fit shirt underneath down into the 20's. Below that down to (feels like) 0 degrees outside, I have put a fleece underneath. Has repelled some water as well. Lightweight, comfortable. A little baggy in the body, but rest fits great. I would say Regular fit, not slim. Hood is very warm as well. Very impressed. Can use as a mid-layer with a outer shell as well.
