The North Face DryVent

The North Face DryVent
Dryvent™ fabrics are engineered to be fully waterproof, windproof and breathable. The outer face of the textile is treated with a durable water repellant finish that helps form droplets and repel water from the surface. Each multi layered textile is engineered to allow water vapor to pass through from the inside to the outside.

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellent
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

The North Face Thermoball

The North Face Thermoball
Thermoball utilizes PrimaLoft synthetic fiber clusters to closely mimic down clusters. This offers the heat retaining power of down, but with the added durability and versatility of synthetic insulation. It'll keep you toasty warm, even in wet-weather conditions.

PrimaLoft insulations and fabrics

PrimaLoft was originally developed to serve as a water resistant, synthetic alternative to goose down for the U.S. Army. Since then PrimaLoft has been a leader in insulation and fabric technologies in the outdoor industry, and is used by the top outerwear and clothing brands to craft pieces that offer warmth without bulky weight, packablity, and both water resistance and breathability for all your outdoor adventures.

Product Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best jacket I've ever gotten. Got this as a Christmas present. Never owned a North Face jacket, nor really owned clothing this expensive before. I always rolled my eyes at "technology clothing" or clothing with buzzword features, but oh my has that changed now. I recently moved to Portland and needed something completely water resistant. No liquid will soak into this fabric, it will just bead off no problem. The jacket is thin and feels like an internal temperature control. I was so used coming from Chicago essentially gearing up for Siberia in winter that I didn't know jackets could be so warm and thin. Overall I am very impressed. If I had to complain about one small thing, the zippers feel way to thin and I fear one day I might pull too hard and break it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor fit I wear an XL in every brand i have ever worn. This XL was about the size of most other brands L jackets. I tried on a friends XXL and i could fit 2 of myself in it. There is no happy median with this jacket. They do not make a single size i can wear. This is also an ongoing complaint on many of North Face's jackets. If you read the reviews you will find many just like mine. Why this has not been fixed i do not know. I have found reviews as far back as 2010 with the same complaint on multiple jacket models. The XL is made for a super model and the XXL is made for a sumo wrestler.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product I work in an outdoor guide and instructor and this jacket performs exceptionally. The shell is incredible and wind and rain resistance while remaining lightweight and mobile. The inner jacket fits well and is rather warm. It also zips into an older, heavier shell that I have from The North Face, so it is highly versatile.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great fit. Perfect for fall, early winter, and spring. I'm delighted by the light weight of this jacket. The compression of the thermoball liner is impressive-very little bulk with the liner inside of the shell. The shell looks and fits great without the liner. This is not a jacket for serious and prolonged winter cold, but I would use it in the dead of winter running errands in my car. My primary purpose for this jacket is hiking in spring and fall. I thought I would wear an XL, but I used the North Face's size finder, ordering an XXL. Glad I did!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very light but warm - love it! Had been using a light jacket from North Face for over a decade and decided it was about time for a new one. Didn't expect this one to be so warm while being so light! Brought it with me to the snowy peak of Mount Tateyama in November, and it still kept me nice and warm. Love the colors as well. Only minor detail keeping it from being perfect are the zipper covers. I wish they were just a bit longer/wider! Sometimes I'll feel the cold zipper on my face. Outside of that, my new favorite jacket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great warm ( but also light) multifunctional jacket!! Very happy with my new Thermaball Triclimate Jacket. Bought it for skiing, but so far only used it in the cold rain and light snow. Super lightweight but also warm. If you layer it, even warmer. I'm a "hot" skier as in I get very hot, so looking forward to having all the protection afforded by a puff and shell combo without the sweaty result. Hopefully, no more cold lift rides in only a fleece for me. Super happy with this jacket.
