Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Well Conceived and Put Together North Face Product This sleeping bag is really well conceived and executed. It is so flexible for use in most conditions. You can use it as four season bag if needs be unless the mercury really plummets, then you would want a true winter expedition bag. But for every other condition this is a great product. And sooooo comfy too. Some people complain about the zippers but they are not a problem if you keep in mind that North Face zippers are often surrounded by awesome and effective down. So you just need to focus on zipping and go relatively slowly. Do not be put off by zipper comments. North Face makes serious tools for serious outdoor pursuits.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bag Took the bag on a camping trip to Algonquin Ontario, Canada recently. Temp was -5c overnight and the following night was +3c. Had on a base layer. Used the bag as designed by removing layers and it was perfect both nights. Tons of room to turnover. This bag suits me perfectly. We camp in varying temps and to carry one sleeping bag for every trip makes perfect sense. Our dog, a chihuahua, realized quickly how warm the bag was and slept with me every night. I would agree with another reviewer that quite a bit of heat can be lost through the thin bottom layer of the bag but with a good sleeping pad and a tent footprint it was quickly sorted. Love the ingenuity and design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bag for everyone I bought this bag to round out my sleeping bag collection (I'm a gearhead) and I honestly wish I had gotten this bag earlier. It's so versatile and while it can't replace my ultra-light quilt or my Inferno, I have two other bags that this can do the same job as. If you are worried about this bag not being warm enough, I have a friend in Canada that camps with this bag in the Winter!! Yah its not the most ultra-light bag and I wouldn't do a long trek with it but if you are going to be in various climates while backpacking, this bag is worth its weight :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Adorable BUTHeavy [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this knowing its not warm enough for 50% of the year where I live. I camp every weekend and I hike in. So this is heavy and bulky for hiking. Mine comes in at about 4 pounds. That is what I would expect an Arctic down bag to weigh. Still, its adorable and comfortable! I really like it and since we had a few power outages and my apartment was less than 40 degrees this bag was perfect. I love the foot box. Make one like this for a -20 F rating and if it were 5 pounds, I would still buy it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from R Ratings [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just wanted to point out: 1). The comfort ratings should be your guide when purchasing. 2) The fill on posterior of bag is thin, so make sure your foam/inflatable pads have the appropriate R rating for the season. 3) I think I'm going to use a liner and place one thermarest pad inside the bag. 4) Also, for extreme cold ( and by this I mean winter camping NOT ARCTIC CONDITIONS), heat H2o, place in nalgine and put in foot box of bag for a warm night.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid versatile bag [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This bag is great quality! Functions well for what it's designed for and is very comfortable and soft on the skin. I used it in about 10°F weather and was very warm except for a bit of cold seeping in near the zipper by my feet. Some thicker socks helped that though. Only other con, is that when all layers are packed it's a little bulky for backpacking, but that could be remedied with a smaller compression sack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Gear [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really ingeneous design and well thought out. Great functionality. Materials seem light but durable not too loud when moving. Love the ability to remove portion and use as blanket or quilt. Definitely more roomy that traditional mummy bags. Note this is not heavy but it is not an ultralight bag, but given the layers and functionality, I dont expect it to be. Great for car camping, basecamp or backpacking if you don't mind the additional size/weight. Very pleased so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this bag! I was shopping around for sleeping bags and when I saw this I had to have it. It is so versatile and comfortable. It may not be the lightest bag but it is manageable and still packs down to a backpackable size. I love that the parts can come off to become a shawl or camp blanket. The inside of the stuffsack is fleece lined so you can stuff some clothes inside it and use it as a pillow. I would recommend this to anyone!
