Rated 5 out of 5 by from The prophet 100 is pretty great so far to be honest i haven't take it out on a hike yet. so far this bag is definitely better than my old army ruck. the back support and waist support are very stiff but contours to my back and fits comfortably. I really like the back adjustment straps, they make the bag feel like it is apart of my body. the straps pull the bag close to to your body so that the bag doesn't budge and move around when you don't want to, it moves with you which is really nice. I would recommend this product to anyone. So far I have no cons for this bag

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I believe in the Prophet! I bought this pack for my 13-day trip up Denali's West Buttress last spring. My team relied on me to carry extra gear because this pack was light and could hold so much. It is highly adjustable and easy to carry when full of gear or when used as a day pack on the summit push. It is easy to balance. It is comfortable. There was no room in the tent, so my pack spent the nights outside. In the morning it would be covered in spindrift and ice. I would shake it off and retrieve dry gear from inside. It also kept everything dry during 4-5 hours of rain and slush on the return to base camp.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Skeptical at first but impressed and satisfied with product. I purchased this huge pack for an upcoming expedition to Chile and so far, it has been fantastic. Upon arrival, I noticed that the buckles/plastic bits of gear seemed a bit cheap and the fabric seemed too thin to be carrying a 100L load. However, after packing it with ~50 lbs and hiking with it, everything seemed to hold up great and I no longer worry about its durability and reliability for the duration of my expedition. I'm sure I'll get years of great use with this pack, plus it even comes with an extra hip belt buckle if it does break on me. The Dyneema fabric is thinner than my Osprey Aether's fabric but seems to be tough enough to get the job done while also shedding some weight. The pack does not seem heavier than a Osprey or Gregory 60L pack but is monstrously huge in terms of real estate. The pack has a lot of bells and whistles that don't seem gimmicky, and I think the black and red look good together (although the red is very light and bright). The feature I like most is the "Dyno Carry System" which basically allows me to adjust the load-lifters and torso length of the pack on the go. You just pull on one strap for the load-lifters and one for the torso length, and everything fits perfectly. One gripe about this system is that with the set-up that feels most comfortable to me the pack squeaks a bit while moving. It feels very nice because the pack isn't stiff and fighting against my movement, but having the loadlifters on a single strap makes them move around a bit. The padding on the pack is thin and dense, both in the shoulder straps and the waistbelt. I'm a thinner person so the curve of the waistbelt fits me nicely, but they are angled in quite aggressively, although I'm sure they would mold to the size of your body with use. The back panel has no ventilation, so my back ends up drenched after hikes, but I'm sure in colder weather with a jacket on it's no problem. Overall a great pack, I hope this review helped someone on the fence of purchasing!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from You Won't Be Able To Attach Anything To This Pack I previously owned a North Face Vigor backpack for nearly 20 years and was very happy with it, so I ordered what appeared to be the "best" backpack that The North Face currently makes (the Prophet 100). I was very dismayed to discover that (unlike my North Face Vigor backpack) there were no outside loops or straps to attach anything at all to the outside of this pack. Hey North Face - You guys DO realize that backpackers also carry sleeping bags, tents, bedrolls, etc. on the outside of their packs, don't you? It would not have been a big deal to add a couple of leather patches to the top of the pack to attach a tent to, or maybe a couple of nylon straps to the bottom of the pack so you could at least carry a sleeping bag. I was very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great even for regular Alpine camping and hiking. Very comfortable to wear and hike with a lot of weight. I also have a Kelty and this is much more comfortable on long hauls.
