Product Reviews
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shoes, but need a bit of work. First off, I do love these shoes. BUT, they need a little extra break in time and they run pretty small. I didn't order a half size up and I thought they were ok at first, but after wearing a bit, I realized they just need to be bigger. They are very stiff at first, but are softening up. Even with all the breaking in drama, I actually do LOVE these shoes. They are sturdy and protect feet against rocks in the trail, and I have tested the waterproofing in a creek. My foot did NOT get wet, even though at first I thought they had leaked because I could feel the cool temperature of the water through the shoe. Buy these, just beware of the weird sizing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing shoes, just buy half size up I bought the colour urban navy and I really love these shoes. They offer the perfect balance between sneaker style and hiking function. I've hiked in them through raining muddy trails to steep sandy hills and they've held up very well. I was really impressed how they kept my foot dry in the rain and mud because there were parts were I couldn't avoid and had to step into deep mud puddles that went beyond the blue marks on the shoes. Cleaning up the body of the shoes was a breeze as well despite all the mud stuck on it. I do agree with other reviewers to go half size up when purchasing. But other than that, I would not pass on these stylish hiking shoes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I wore these shoes hiking ONE time and have 2 complaints. First, the back of the shoe rubbed against my ankles and caused blisters (I hope they will break in). Second, the top of the shoe has a waterproof/plastic type of covering that wore off in a few areas when the shoe rubbed against a rock or other surface. Pretty disappointing given the high price & purpose of these shoes for the outdoors. The design is better than most hiking shoes which is why I gave them 2 stars but overall would not recommend.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Buy half size up If you're looking for a sneaker meets trail shoe, it's probably a good fit. I really like the look and design of them, as they look slick, they aren't boring like many other trail shoes, and they weren't ridiculously stiff to begin with. They are a bit narrow so if you have wider feet they might not be a good fit. I really liked the stiffness of the toe box however, which was much more solid than the Ultra Fastpack IV pair. That being said, I went with the Ultra Fastpacks because of grip, as these ones were a bit more limiting when trudging wet areas. If they were a lot cheaper than the Fastpacks, I'd consider keeping both or just keeping the Activists, but they are quite close in price. But I think if you're looking for an all around general shoe that can go from the street to a casual trail, this might be a good choice! It looks good on the foot :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfectly Fits Needs During All-Weather Conditions [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The North Face Activists are sturdy with a reinforced toe box. It has a very secure outer sole grip that is water repellent. Perfect for non-slip walking under wet slippery conditions on moisture ladened grassy surfaces. The red insoles are too thin and not supportive. The insoles were replaced with prescription insoles which require ordering an extra half size larger. There is not enough upper ankle support so I would not recommend Activists for hiking on difficult terrain. These Activists are reasonably priced perfectly fitting my needs to comfortably walk our dogs during all-weather conditions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice shoe, but.... I ordered a size 9 in women's, but I should've ordered a size 9.5 at least in order for room. Shoe runs small to size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best shoes ever! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this shoes, apart from looking amazing, they are very confortable and the best part is that they are waterproof and my feet doesn't smell like others when they get wet... I will definitely buy another pair to have an extra. This shoe is true to size, it is not narrow nor small as many others have said. The first day they seem to be stiff but once you wear them the same day they adjust and mold to your feet.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good-looking but not comfortable Shoes look great but they are very narrow and make my feet hurt. On the first day they also rubbed a hole in the back of my ankle. I really hope they will break in

HOW to MEASURE
If you are unsure which shoe size to purchase, please follow the below steps:

1. Trace the outline of each foot on a piece of paper.

2. In straight line from the middle of the heel to the longest toe, measure the length of each foot.

3. If one foot is longer than the other, take the larger measurement and compare to the chart on the next page. Foot length will determine your shoe size.
