Product Reviews
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Comfortable but low quality [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Shoe is breaking down after one camping trip. Went on 4 hikes, approximately 50 miles and lost integrity of waterproofing. Toe is also soft and doesn't protect against impact, I have three toenails that will probably be falling off from this. Despite these, they were very comfortable and lightweight. I never had sore feet and there was no breaking in period in terms of blisters. I always wear an 8.5 and ordered an 8.5 and they fit perfect. I find that North Face typically runs big. I will probably stick to more traditional hiking boot brands from now on like Keen or Merrill.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not waterproof and stiff The last pair of TNF "waterproof" boots I'll try. Sorry, but if I'm wading through a stream for more than 30 seconds my feet shouldn't get wet. It happens at the creases at the sides where the shoe bends to step. My partner with her Merrells could stand in the same stream with zero issues. TNF boots - 0, rivers and lakes that I'm used to - 4. The boots are stiff. If you have a large/tall instep you'll have a hard time getting these on as the tongue gusset is pretty tight. I had some real pressure points on my ankles and needed a few days to break these in. I love that deep red color, but they're going back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Stylish, stiff sole, buy 1 to 1-1/2 sizes larger This shoe is so urban! It is great for bunions because the fabric mesh lets it stretch. I wear 8.5 in most brands, bought a 9 in the future light activist and need 9.5. Right food length is good for half size up but the left foot seems shorter and need full size up. This may be mis-classified as a hiking shoe. The sole is stiff and thick, even stiffer than the future light III. I like to feel the ground more when hiking. This shoe may be for light hikers who do a few miles in flat urban environments or 3 miles on steep mountain terrain. I haven't tested it but I don't think I will do long hikes with elevation in these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super comfortable Going on a hiking trip to Yellowstone soon so I needed some great hiking boots. I was bummed that they didn't have them in my size. I normally where a size 8. So I got the 8.5 since everyone was saying to size up a bit. I'm glad I did! I think 8.5 is absolutely perfect. They feel soooooooo comfortable. I love that they also don't look like the normal type of hiking shoes as I want to wear them for purposes other than hiking as well. I can't wait to wear them on longer journeys. They also don't feel like they need to be broken in at all.10/10 would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would Recommend I hiked 900 km in them and they were great. However, they are not waterproof.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Lightweight, Great in Any Weather [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love taking these shoes on all types of hikes; they hold up well in the mud and are waterproof so far. I can't believe how lightweight and comfortable they are. There is no need to "break them in". I have had no points of discomfort or hot spots. I have been walking on snow and ice frequently which has not been a problem at all since the outsole is well-designed and grippy. They are my new favorite hiking shoe, well-designed and super high quality.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very comfortable, but not waterproof [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great boots for hiking, also in slightly wet weather, but hiking through grass in the rain, made my feet quite wet. That disappoints me since I bought them because the alleged waterproof membrane.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No blisters, finally! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ordering a half size up from my norm was a good call; thanks to the previous reviewers Hiked a few miles uphill without skin breakdown or discomfort. A first for me! I always blister at my heels, tops of toes and/or toe pads (city girl feet). I did a similar hike in my most comfortable tennis shoes and still ended up with toe pad pain and a pinky toe blister.

HOW to MEASURE
If you are unsure which shoe size to purchase, please follow the below steps:

1. Trace the outline of each foot on a piece of paper.

2. In straight line from the middle of the heel to the longest toe, measure the length of each foot.

3. If one foot is longer than the other, take the larger measurement and compare to the chart on the next page. Foot length will determine your shoe size.
