Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impeccable quality for years [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second parka. The first one I bought 11-12 years ago size L, still wear it and one is in good condition. I am a nurse and the North Face offered discounts for health workers so I decided to buy a new one. I`m 5 '7 and my size is between L and XL, so this parka true to size, and I bought XL. Usually I don`t wear layers just one layer and it is enough for cold weather. This parka is long enough may be 4 inches above my knees. I like that this parka has additional line with velcro next to the zipper, so you don`t need to zip all the time. Thank you North Face!!! So happy!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Shapeless Parka I tried this parka on in black at a North Face store. It had nice definition around the waist, giving it a shape that is much more flattering to a woman's body, which seems rare in parkas. I wanted gray so I ordered the gray online. When the gray parka arrived, it fit nothing like the black. The waist was shapeless and the jacket was bulky all over. I returned it and purchased the original black one I tried in the store. So, be careful if you order this online after trying one on in the store. I believe the ones online are from a different batch, made later this season than what's in the store, and they do not fit the same.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Maine winters This is my second winter with this coat, and I love it! I often work outside in very cold, snowy conditions, and the coat has kept me warm and dry without being too bulky. I frequently hike to winter field sites in deep snow, and climb up granite slopes. Despite the wear and tear, the coat has held up really well! The outer material is incredibly durable and keeps rain, snow, and wind out. I am 5'4" and bought a L, which fits well even with a midweight layer underneath. I also have a larger bust (36F) which can cause other coats to feel too constricting, but this parka fits well. All in all I definitely recommend this coat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Warmest and Cutest parka!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Repurchased this same style after my previous arctic parka bought in 2015 did not dry well after a wash and started smelling like a wet dog. Otherwise I would not be replacing it! It was my go-to cold weather winter coat, which looks so much classier than the overabundance of "michelin man" style coats out there. Compared to the old version of this coat, new one is now longer - which is a huge plus! On the downside, the new one feels a bit more boxy because the waist line is less form fitting. Other than that, the coat seems just as warm and well made! Get it while they still have all the colors and sizes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Wisconsin Winter! I'm originally from Texas and desperately wanted to stay warm during the brutal below zero Wisconsin winters. I've had North Face coats before but always had to layer underneath to stay warm. I finally had had enough of being cold despite layering and bought this down parka. BEST DECISION I'VE EVER MADE! This down parka is WARM! I wear a long sleeve shirt underneath and I stay toasty warm. The silhouette is flattering and coat is comfortable. I'm a short meatball (5'0" and 160lbs) so got a large because of my tummy. This fit like a dream with plenty of room for movement or layering I wanted it. If you're on the fence about this, buy it. You'll be so happy you did!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Can't Say Enough Good Things I needed a jacket because I'm going to Alaska. So I made sure to do a lot research because if I'm going to buy something I'm not going to waste my money. I tested this jacket out while I was in the Poconose. The temperature was 3° with wind. And I didn't feel a single thing. I'm not sure how the jacket will do wet but if you're buying it for a cold windy day this jacket is perfect. I also am 5'6" and 34DD and a bit of an athletic built. So I wanted to make sure the jacket had room in the sleeves because I hate when my arms are restricted in jackets. Typically, I wear a medium or a large but I got the jacket in a XL and I'm glad I did.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What happened to the Arctic Parka?!?! This is my 3rd TNF Arctic parka. My first (and warmest) model was purchased in 2009, my second in 2014. I purchased the latest model last week after someone stole my second TNF from the coat rack on NYE 2017. This latest version?! What a disappointment. The zipper is utter garbage, the fur collar looks cheap and sparse and the chest pockets are gone. Seriously, even the hanging loop has gone down in quality. Forget about warmth too. The arms don't have enough fill and the wind whips right through the coat. You might get some use out of this on a Carribean cruise but don't plan on much else. Signed, One Sad Loyal Customer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for winter in Germany and Austria! I love this parka. I'm very sensitive to cold weather and this coat kept me warm through LOTS of walking around in below freezing temperatures in Germany and Austria last January. I keep wishing I'd invested in it before because now I can still be comfortable in cold weather. Anywhere the coat covers, I'm warm. It's also not TOO hot when changing temperatures. (I could wear it going from museum to museum and didn't feel like I was burning up when I was indoors.) It's not extremely form-fitting but it's still pretty flattering given its warmth. The hood is also really nice for when it snows or just from covering my head/ears when it gets a bit too windy and chilly.
