The North Face DryVent

The North Face DryVent
Dryvent™ fabrics are engineered to be fully waterproof, windproof and breathable. The outer face of the textile is treated with a durable water repellant finish that helps form droplets and repel water from the surface. Each multi layered textile is engineered to allow water vapor to pass through from the inside to the outside.

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellent
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Product Reviews

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lack of pockets! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to get this jacket. When it arrived the chest pockets and double inside pockets I was as looking forward to- NOT on the women's version of the coat! This is complete and utter garbage. Spending this amount of money on a coat to not have the same features and functionality of the mens version is so backwards. Also, the mens is out of extra small. I hope they come back in stock before I spend my money on another brand elsewhere.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seems really nice, just not for me [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very nice jacket! I ordered it to compare to the New Outerboroughs women's jacket, and ended up returning this one just because I was looking for a more day-to-day jacket instead. This is clearly a very nice and well-insulated jacket, but as such it is humungous. I am 5'7 and 150lbs and was swimming in the medium. That said, I don't know if I'd necessarily have preferred the small just because I think they size it larger for layering options. Overall, I think if you're looking for a coat that will keep you warm in extremely cold conditions and don't mind all the bulk, this is a good option. But if you're going to be using it as more of an everyday thing, this is probably going to be overkill.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sexist jacket [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The men's jacket has 3 more pockets for the same price as the women's. I bought from an authorized retailer, and immediately returned when I saw that The North Face was charging me the same price for a lesser product than what men get. It's the end of 2021, GIVE WOMEN POCKETS. That or permanently reduce the price. Why should women pay the same for a lesser product?!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really warm jacket, pockets only downfall [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a super warm jacket. No issues being outside in the snow in 20 degrees with a tshirt underneath. The jacket is oversized - I'm 5'7 about 125 and the small is great and plenty of room. The only bad part is the lack of external pockets. The Velcro is annoying and I could see it going after a lot of uses. For future iterations you should have added chest pockets like on the men's version.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Uhhh pockets? [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ok this coat is perfect besides the fact that there are no pockets for me to easily slide my hands into. Who designed this???? For the amount of money, I expect more.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Zipper Prlbmes [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in Minnesota and walk daily. This parka is warm and it fits me well (size small). However, the zipper has been really problematic. It still does not zip properly. My husband still has to zip and unzip me regularly. I am sending it in for zipper replacement but am not optimistic...which is a shame, because it is definitely warm enough for our subzero weather here, and I appreciate that. I don't know if this is a fluke or if this is a recurring problem for this particular jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth it for the warmth [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is the warmest thing I own. Definitely worth the money. My only complaint is the zipper. For such an expensive jacket I'd expect the zipper to be better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in North Eastern WI and really hope this jacket is very warm for winter. The jacket is nice, high quality, and offers nice features. I dislike the Velcro on the pockets, patch pockets would have been better to easily and quickly utilize them. I am 5'5" 87 lbs and opted for a size small. I wear lots of layers and oversized sweaters and cannot stand jackets where it feels like suffocation, so that is why I sized up. Otherwise the jacket is relaxed fit. It's a very heavy/big jacket.

HOW to MEASURE
CHEST / BUST: Measure the total circumference of your chest at its fullest point. Ensure that the tape is horizontal when measuring.

WAIST: Place your hands on your hips and bend to the side. The indent on your side as you bend is your natural waist. Measure the total circumference at this point.

HIPS: Stand with your feet 6" apart. Measure the total circumference at the fullest point of your hip.

SLEEVE LENGTH: With your elbow slightly bent, starting at your middle neck bone, measure to the point of your shoulder and down to your wrist bone. Or take a shirt that fits well and take the same measurement.

FIT TYPES
SLIM FIT: Has a close-to-body fit with fair range-of-motion. Jackets are shaped at the waist with moderate body contouring. Can be worn over base layers or light mid-layers.

STANDARD FIT: Fits true-to-size for easy, comfortable movement. Can either have slight body shaping or a straight fit without the shaping. Can be worn over mid-layers.

RELAXED FIT: Has a loose-to-oversize fit, with no shaping, and hangs away from the body. The shoulder may drop below the natural shoulder. Can be worn over heavy mid-layers.
