DWR tech

Durable Water Repellent
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

The North Face DryVent

The North Face DryVent
Dryvent™ fabrics are engineered to be fully waterproof, windproof and breathable. The outer face of the textile is treated with a durable water repellant finish that helps form droplets and repel water from the surface. Each multi layered textile is engineered to allow water vapor to pass through from the inside to the outside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Resolve Jacket.. Best jacket I have ever own Best jacket I have ever owned. Light weight and breathable for those days where you are not sure if you even need a jacket. Zip it up and it keeps you warm and toasty on those cold afternoons. I especially like the comfotable feeling the fleece like materal gives you when you pull up the collar. I bought mine about a year ago and liked it so much I bought one for my daughter in college at the University of Nebraska. She liked hers so much she bough one for mom as a birthday present. Our other daughter just staretd college at CU and we sent her one too. The whole dang family has one now and we all abosultely love them !!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT WATERPROOF Do not buy this jacket if you want something that is truly waterproof! I cannot tell you how sick I am of products being advertised as "waterproof" that are at best, water resistant. I expected better from the North Face. I bought this explicitly because I needed something to be actually water PROOF for biking and hiking in the rain. I wore this today in moderately heavy rain to the post office and back today--about 20 min total in the rain, and water was soaking through all over the place. My phone was zipped up in one of its pockets and was wet, and my shirt under the jacket was all wet. This truly is unacceptable for an item advertised to be waterproof. Do not buy this!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do larger women not wear rain jackets? I am a size 16/18, which makes me the average size in the US. I ordered an XXL, it was way too small. My little sister who wears a size Small almost everywhere tried it on and it was only a little big on her. It is 100% unreasonable for you not to make jackets that fit the average sized american woman. I will actively be discouraging my friends from buying your gear. I bought a 3XL in another jacket (the only jacket you make in 3xl, it is not as cute, but it fits.) The only reason i will not be sending it back too is because I DESPERATELY need a rain coat. I am going on a hiking weekend. Averaged sized women hike too and it is pretty horrible not to be able to buy needed gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shorty Pants! I am a 5'1.5" 19 y/o girl. I bought this jacket for my trip to Brazil, since I hear it rains a lot. I wore it during a freak thunderstorm here at home, and I had to ride my bike down the road for the neighbors, and came home completely dry and a little toasty. I bought it in a medium, and its large enough to put a sweater under or something, but because I personally am so short, the sleeves and body are a little long. The hood doesn't stay as well as I'd like, or maybe because that was I was wearing a pony tail, but besides that, I LOVE it. :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Jacket I like this jacket better than the Venture jacket. Though both jackets are lightweight, the Resolve has a mesh lining and the Venture does not. As a result, the Venture sticks to your skin and it's like wearing a trash bag. The only complaints I have are that it doesn't have a fabric "hook" for hanging and that the hood adjustment cords do not have a plastic piece to keep them in place. Customers should know this jacket runs a bit small. Only order a larger size if you plan to wear bulky items underneath. If wearing a thin layer or t-shirt, normal size should be fine.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from No room for layering for colder weather I'm 5'2" and weigh 127. I bought the medium but it was too snug when putting a polar fleece layer under the jacket. So I sent that back and got a large (I never wear a large anything!). There wasn't much of a difference in size between the medium and the large so I sent that one back as well. I guess if you want just a raincoat for fairly warm temps, this will do. I ended up getting a competitor's jacket in a medium that still had lots of room for layering, had huge pockets, and ended at my knees, not my hips. The next question is whether I would recommend this jacket to a friend. I would say "yes" only for fairly warm weather.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Definitely not waterproof This product is definitely not waterproof. I have gone through two of these coats now because I assumed the first coat was defective and exchanged it for another. They both seemed promising at first with beads of water rolling off of them but within a minute or two water begins to absorb and soon enough the coat is soaked through. I expected more from a North Face coat and this evening I will be taking my second coat back and buying a Mountain Equipment Co-op raincoat. Do not buy this if you would like to stay dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great raincoat! I had never owned a good quality rain coat and after getting caught in a raging downpour I vowed to finally make the investment in a good rain jacket. I did a lot of online research and took a chance on this coat based on all of the great reviews. Well yesterday my new coat was put to the test. We had a torrential downpour and I found myself outside a few times, mostly running from the car into work or home. This rain was pounding down (enough to flood roads) and yet the coat protected my clothes and skin from getting drenched. I used the hood and, to my great shock, even my hair was totally dry. I never thought I'd be excited over something as simple as a raincoat but I have to say I'm pretty excited over this one.

Is this function as a ski jacket

Asked by: SkiSkiSS
Thank you for the question! You can wear the Resolve 2 for any activity you wish. It is not insulated tho, so it will not be warm enough for skiing. If you allow for enough room for layering, that is always a possibility. It is really just a waterproof shell to be used on warm days (Spring/ Summer). Hope this helps!

What color is best for rain jacket?

Asked by: Alena
Hey Alena, good question! I am a fan of the Grape Leaf or the White/High Res Gray; all these colors are in short supply though, so get them while you can! Hope this helps!
